GUYS, this is for you! This is a great way for connecting together and for growing together, as "iron sharpens iron" (Prov. 27:17). So, even if you feel that you don't need "sharpening" (you do!), someone else needs you to help sharpen them! This is how #FollowingJesusTogether works! See you ONLINE ONLY at 7:00pm Mondays. Do you plan to join us live online on Christmas Eve?

Hope Barrie 03.12.2020

A reminder that "Women of Hope" is on Christmas break and is not meeting today. When we return, we will have to meet over Zoom until the lockdown is over. In the meantime, let's put into practice what we learn about being a church family.... Who comes to mind as someone that you can call or text to spend some time with and to encourage, today? What is stopping you from spending the time that you would have spent at your group meeting by encouraging one another as we #FollowJesusTogether? #ChurchIsNotWhereYouGo

Praise Items: 1. People were lined up waiting for Dr. Tim to arrive to begin this week's food distribution. 2. Each person is encouraged personally and prayed for individually. 3. ALL of the food is donated, and the amount of dollars from our church budget that is spent on this is zero. 4. Someone stopped a couple of our staff on the street, a few hours later, and repeatedly thanked us. He told us that, since he is warm and fed in a local shelter, he helps others by brin...ging some of the food to "campers" who have to sleep out in the cold. He had prayed to receive forgiveness and to give his life to Jesus, some time ago one evening at Hope, and now he believes he is sent by God to help others. 5. A few weeks ago at F3 ("Free Food Friday"), someone we know decided to enter our addiction support programming, and is learning about following Jesus. Programmes like these are essential to the Gospel-centred ministry of Hope Barrie, and, as we've seen over and over again, can help to transform lives for now and for eternity! Glory to Jesus.

"My troubles might be greater than my strength, but my God is greater than my trials!" (Hope Gathering, November 15th, 2020). Finish this sentence in the comments, below: "God is bigger than my ______________!"

This is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT. If you are in support of our community programming, and especially our Hope House Trauma and Addiction Support Centre, please make your voice heard. "Safe" Consumption Sites (for illegal drug use) are proven to increase crime, drug trafficking, drug use, and addiction in the neighbourhoods they serve. This places already vulnerable people at much greater risk. The two proposed "safe" consumption sites are within incredibly close proximity to ou...r addiction services and our home base for our supportive community at The Hope Centre, Hope House Trauma and Addiction Support Centre, and Higher Grounds Coffee House. We need help to increase the safety, security, and well-being of our community members, especially those who struggle with addiction, and not work against it, as the agencies proposing the site are trying to do. The two proposed locations of these sites are 31 Toronto Street (ALMOST bordering on our property, behind us) and 110 Dunlop Street West (same complex where "Off The Rack" used to be, a block or so away from our locations). A LOUD AND CLEAR PUBLIC OUTCRY IS APPROPRIATE. Please click on the survey link in the article, here, and have your say. When asked for your postal code, since you are representing our Hope Barrie community, please use ours at L4N1S8 (our Mary Street address) or L4N1A5 (Higher Grounds). #SHARE (Please make sure that you share this text from this post or your own concerns along with the attached link). https://www.simcoemuskokahealth.org//Supervised-consumptio

The worship leaders were on fire on Sunday evening. The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people, and there was no doubt about that this week! Amen?!

"Church" means that we participate and we step up and serve one another. These guys are learning to depend on one another and to participate in a community of believers on mission to the world. Thanks, guys! We could all learn something from your example.
