Let’s talk about FATIGUE.!! a lot of people feel tired during the day, tired on waking in the morning, tired after meals, tired in the evening. Most common reasons for fatigue include: IRON DEFICIENCY ... VITAMIN B12 DEFICIENCY VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY ADRENAL FATIGUE DEPRESSION LYME DISEASE THYROID IMBALANCE ( under active thyroid) I want to share something about IRON deficiency today. Iron deficiency can happen due to poor intake of iron rich foods, poor absorption due to HCL deficiency or excessive bleeding. - - It is very important to test ferritin and iron profile to determine exact type of iron deficiency. Once you have been diagnosed with iron deficiency or insufficiency, it is important to be on right dose and form of Iron supplement. Ferrous Bisglycinate is one of the forms of iron supplement I commonly recommend to my patients as it is gentle on stomach and doesn’t usually cause constipation or nausea. - Make sure to take iron supplements 30-40 mins before breakfast and away from calcium/dairy products as it impedes iron absorption. - It is also recommended to take Vitamin C with iron supplement to increase the absorption of iron. *it is not recommended to take iron supplements without supervision from a health care provider * This is general information for education purposes and not a recommendation for anyone.
