Leah was absolutely amazing during labor and delivery. It was beautiful seeing her husband Patrick right there for her as well. I was so lucky to be part of this birth.

This was one of my favorite postpartum support memories. Momo was born at home with a midwife and shortly after I got a slightly panicked call for a little extra support. Best part is they are family and I was so blessed to be able to offer my love and knowledge. Momma Tahl, @mysticrootsyoga was exhausted and dads, @deepak.s.kalsi nerves were buzzing. We talked a lot, I went out for tiny clothes, demonstrated some baby holds and assured them they would be okay. Weather you are mother with children at home or a mother to be, your most likely already going stir crazy. So slow down, take a deep breath and look at this as an opportunity to focus on something you need or want to get done. If you have children at home think about maybe just letting go and allowing the house to become a stage, a museum, an art gallery or a 5 Star kitchen. Let your kids explore things that might usually be off limits. If your a mom to be, this is a great chance to prep. Bake some regular or lactation cookies for after the birth. Maybe some meals to freeze. Or maybe your like me and you find comfort in packing and re-packing your hospital bag. With all the talk of self quarantine Im betting that in approximately 9 months Doulas are going to be very busy... So as the snow falls outside, Im taking this time to read and re-read, to enhance my knowledge and hone my skills to be the best Doula I can be! Take care all, stay happy and healthy. As natural as it gets!

On December 14th I was honored to be a part of this mamas journey bringing baby #4 in the world @adrianne.wall There really are no words to describe the joy, and privilege that come with being invited into this experience. Theres an immense amount of trust they must feel and I have so much respect for all who open their homes,lives and bodies to a Doula. @adrianne.wall was simply amazing and even with her little son walking in while shes having contractions to show her... the polar bear on the bum of his pajamas. She was present with every breath. This was a home birth and a fantastic example of why that can be so wonderful, her other children woke in the morning and came and went as they pleased. The entire family was involved as much as they wanted. What a unique experience for your children to be able to watch a sibling come into the world! I want to thank the Wall family and especially @adrianne.wall for allowing me to be a part of such a special day. See more

This is just Fantastic.

On April 29th I was lucky enough to support a mama while she brought this beauty into the world. It was an amazing experience that made me truly realize what I was meant to do, and reminded me how strong women are. What a joy to see her growing!

There are so many misconceptions about the job of a birth Doula. Lets try to clear things up and remind everyone that a doula is an amazing addition to any birth!

Did you know Doulas are trained for being part of your support team?! Thats right, I might not be your best friend, or your mother or partner but I have SO much knowledge to offer to your birthing experience. I support you through the decision process, helping you gain knowledge about all the choices that are out there. Im on call for you 24/7 before your baby is born. Im with you through your labor giving physical and emotional support to you and other members of your bi...rth team, as well as postpartum support if desired. Every birthing person deserves a Doula!
