A stay-at-home order is important to respect but essential workers can't stay home that is why we are calling on the Ottawa Public Health Board and our Chief Medical Officer Vera Etches to take action under their mandate and make sure that essential workers and other at-risk communities get the #COVID19 vaccine that they need and deserve at the Ottawa Board of Health Meeting on April 19th. Whenever you bring up free transit Jim Watson and co say we don't have the money for it but when it comes to free parking, the City of Ottawa coffers are apparently endless. We should follow the lead of other cities around the world during #COVID19 and make transit free.

At the Transit Commission meeting this past Wednesday, Transit Commission Chair, Councillor Allan Hubley, clearly frustrated, continuously interrupted public delegates to tell them that proposed cuts from OC Transpo are not cuts but "service adjustments" (they're cuts). Here he is interrupting Blaine Cameron, a member of Ottawa ACORN for calling these service cuts for what they are.

Earlier last year, the City of Ottawa announced that they would be studying the implementation of a vacant unit tax. Our members came together and drafted our vision for what the vacant unit tax could look like. Read our policy brief below:
