BIG News coming from Ottawa this evening as the Federal Government and Air Canada have reached an agreement. Part of this agreement is that AC will: "Beginning April 13, 2021, offering eligible customers who purchased non-refundable fares but did not travel due to COVID-19 since February 2020, the option of a refund to the original form of payment." This is regardless of whether the flight/vacation package was canceled by the client or AC.... Myself and hundreds of other Travel Advisors from all over Canada are part of the newly formed (June 2020) grass roots organization called The Association of Canadian Independent Travel Advisors. Collectively, we've met over Zoom with over 200 MP's and advocated for our clients, for ourselves, for Canadian airlines and for the safe reopening of travel for Canadian residents. Tonight we celebrate a small victory and hope for more to come. The government has said that they are in talks with the other airlines and we are hoping that there will be similar announcements coming soon from them.
