Being doing some communication tower inspections lately. Very interesting work.
New rules came into affect June 1
I’ve added a new drone to the fleet. The Mavic 2 Enterprise has lots of new tech. Even a spotlight and loud speaker. Also added is zoom capability.
I now have my advanced RPAS pilot certificate. Everything is ready for the new regulations that take effect June 1.I now have my advanced RPAS pilot certificate. Everything is ready for the new regulations that take effect June 1.
June 1 the new regulations come in from Transport Canada. UAV’s or drones will now be known as RPAS. Remote Piloted Aerial System. All RPAS (drones) need to be registered with Transport Canada if they are between 250g and 25kg. ALL operators will need a license. Commercial operations require an advanced license and a flight test. It is important to note all commercial RPAS will be treated as small aircraft. This requires log books just as a private aircraft would.
