The Canadian Standardbred Network, in coordination with the Alberta Equestrian Federation, Horse Racing Alberta and Standards Equine, has established 3 main drop off points for Equine/Livestock donations to support the relief efforts for those affected by the wildfires currently in Alberta. Monetary donations are to be made through AEF, and will provide funds towards emergency aid such as feed, transportation, veterinary care. At this time until we have a better understandin...g of the equine community's needs we ask that those bringing physical donations limit them to essential horse care related items. For safety and biosecurity issues we can only accept unopened bags of feed, and veterinary care items. Please clean all other items before drop off. These include but are not limited to: Water buckets, feed buckets/tubs, hay cubes, basic feeds, halters, lead ropes, fly spray, fly sheets, and basic first aid veterinary supplies. Such as vet wrap, gauze pads/wrap, telfa pads, topical wound ointments, (polysporin, dermagel, furazone, diaper rash cream etc) and cleaning agents both for wounds, (betadine, chlorhexidine etc) and sanitizing to aid with biosecurity. Other items such as saddles, bridles, and other kinds of tack that will need to be replaced eventually, are not needed at this time. Betty Snyder is the founder of Horses and More equestrian services. She has over 50 years of training and horsemanship experience. Her unique style is a mix of traditional horsemanship and classical dressage with an uncanny ability to read the horse. Betty rides, trains and competes in dressage as her chosen discipline however she takes all types of riders on as students. Young or old if you want to learn, gain trust and partnership skills with your horse, Betty is your facil...itator. She specializes in teaching people how to listen to their horse and work through ground and ridden issues to help both cement the bond with the horse and become a better partnership. This partnership then will transfer to your rides, and your enjoyment of your horse. Students of this program feel they really have the tools to take forward to their chosen discipline, they feel they are safer, and they feel that they can speak horse.
