30,000 MEALS DONATED! Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we are proud to announce that we have prepared, packaged and served THIRTY THOUSAND MEALS to those in need in our local community. Some of the charities we have supported are: Barrie Food Bank, David Busby Centre, Salvation Army Barrie Bayside Mission Centre, Women & Children's Shelter and many more. The food is being prepared in The Horsepower Sports Bar & BBQ Grill kitchen and has been packaged as individual meals. Toda...y, meal number 30,000 will be delivered. We have an amazing staff of incredible people. When our season was cancelled, they wanted to step up and do whatever we could to help the community that has always supported us. Our Food & Beverage Manager, Sean Kehoe, has done an incredible job with this program. The quality of the meals has been amazing. We have been able to do this because of the fans who supported the Barrie Community Foundation 50/50 draws all season long. We have been able to use those funds to purchase the food required to make these meals", said Howie Campbell, President of The Barrie Colts. The Barrie Colts Community Fund supports various charities in the community and this initiative is possible because of the support of our fans and our corporate sponsors. We want to thank the Barrie Community Foundation for all their help and support with our 50/50 ticket program. The Barrie Colts will be continuing on with the program for as long as possible.

THE BARRIE COLTS COMMUNITY FUND HAS SERVED OVER 25,000 MEALS!!! Over the past 7 weeks, the staff of the Barrie Colts have been preparing, packaging and delivering meals to those most vulnerable in our local community in an effort to provide aid and support during COVID-19. Through a partnership with the Barrie Food Bank thousands of meals are delivered each week to various local charitable organizations, including: Salvation Army Barrie Bayside Mission Centre, Women & Childr...en's Shelter, David Busby Centre and many more! All aspects are being conducted following all safe food handling and social distancing protocols in the Horsepower Sports Bar & BBQ Grill. The original goal was to serve 25,000 meals, which was surpassed today. We are happy to announce that there is no end in sight for this project. We will still be operating for weeks to come. After five weeks of cooking, packaging and delivering, the staff of the Barrie Colts have served 20,247 warm meals. Through our partnerships with various charitable organizations, we have been able to make a huge impact in our local community. This weeks meals consisted of:... Monday - 766 Paella Tuesday - 701 Beef Brisket Wednesday - 720 Lasagna Thursday - 720 Chefs Salad Friday - 751 Sausage and Peppers "Our original goal was to provide 25,000 meals which we are on schedule to surpass within the next seven working days. I am so proud with the job our team has done to support this endeavour. I am thrilled we can do our part to help our community. " said Food & Beverage Manager, Sean Kehoe. All funds for this project were raised through the 50/50 program hosted by the Barrie Community Foundation at Barrie Colts home games throughout the season. ONE MONTH | 16,588 MEALS SERVED TO LOCAL CHARITIES After four weeks of operating our program, we have cooked, packaged and delivered approximately 16,500 meals to local charities. Contactless pickups are being made daily to support Salvation Army Barrie Bayside Mission Centre, Women & Children's Shelter of Barrie, Barrie Food Bank, David Busby Centre and other local health care facilities. THE BARRIE COLTS HAVE SERVED NEARLY 13,000 WARM MEALS TO THOSE MOST VULNERABLE IN BARRIE! After a total of 16 days, the staff of the Barrie Colts have prepared, packaged and served 12,699 warm meals to charities in our local community. April 20th - April 24th:...
