We've Changed..... Horse Sense isn't Horse Sense anymore. We had six wonderful years sharing horses with kids from Mission and beyond in horsemanship lessons and camps. And the good news is.... We are grateful to all the friends, students, their families and volunteers who came out to support us and each other today with hugs, cookies, cards and tree ornaments today at a 'gathering for Lexi'. We didn't say much, but we are grateful most of all to Lexi and the other great horses who draw people in to weave our lives together through moments of joy, moments of triumph, as well as moments of struggle and sadness. Horses spend their lives trying to teach us to be kinder, stronger, and more humble. They leave permanent hoofprints on our hearts.

We are so sorry and devastated to share that a sudden accident led to the loss of our beloved horse Lexi on December 3. We know that she was loved by so many Mission kids. Lessons will continue but there will not be a Christmas camp this year.

We have some sad news, but there are brighter days ahead. It's been hard to even look at pictures, to write this. Our beloved colt, Concho, died suddenly on October 3 of complications from a minor surgery. We are taking it hard, but it's ok to talk about it. We'll miss you buddy. Enjoy your new herd in the greenest pastures. He was born at the farm on May 16, 2014, and never left it.

The last camp of the summer starts next week! Let the games begin! Students and horses bobbin for apples!!! Can't wait!

Teresa and I had an amazing time during our first summer camp last week! We were very impressed at how compassionate, patient and caring these kids were through out the week. It was incredible to watch the horses and kids interacting with each other, developing trust, respect and having special bonding time. I am sorry to say we have lost a great horse yesterday. Thanks to Janet and Mic Schmidt for giving Teresa and I the opportunity to have Dee in our riding and horsemanship program. She was an amazing horse and really loved her job, she put smiles on so many kids faces! Dee will be truly missed by all that had a chance to spend time with her. RIP Dee
