Here is the timeline from the West Vancouver District for the Horseshoe Bay streetscape phase 1 portion. The first two action items will not disrupt traffic but after Labour Day, Royal Ave will be closed from Bruce to Bay (traffic can travel on the alleys). Closing the street allows for a faster construction time rather than closing one side of the street and then the other.

Phase 3 of the public engagement process for the Local Area Plan has been launched and your input is crucial. Please take time to respond. West Van staff are very much hoping for the business community’s participation so share your voice through the survey linked here: westvancouverite.ca/plan-hsb Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this will be the main way for the business community and the residents to continue to shape the future of the village.

Just a fast heads up that there will be a Canada Day concert in Horseshoe Bay from 6-7 pm tomorrow July 1st! A live musical performances will take place (possibly Adam Woodall) on the Look Out patio. The speakers will be facing the community so that everyone can enjoy the concert from their own decks or patios. From the West Vancouver Neighbouhood Foundation: Due to the current pandemic the traditional Neighbourhood Small Grant program is on hold but we are happy to announce that we have a new Responsive Neighbourhood Small Grant program. The program is similar, with the core goal of building community through small scale community projects. The big difference is projects must adhere to the social/physical distancing guidelines (i.e. no physical gatherings, mostly virtual). The p...rogram is open now until July 1st, or until funds are depleted. Dear Valued Customers, With the World Health Organization now declaring coronavirus disease (COVID-19) a global pandemic, we would like to share with you how Tr...oll’s is dealing with this situation. We understand that you may be concerned about the spread of COVID-19. We are, too. Troll’s is committed to the health and safety of our customers and employees. Troll’s has taken extra, proactive measures to mitigate the spread of illness in our restaurant. Staff have been taking, and will continue to take, extra measures to clean and disinfect all common areas that are touched frequently by people throughout the day. They include tables, door handles, payment pin pads, computer terminals and all other areas of concern. The washrooms are cleaned on a regular basis with extra care taken on all touch surfaces and yes, the toilet roll dispensers are full. Right now, the best advice from health authorities to prevent the spread of illness is to follow some simple tips: Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Cough or sneeze into your sleeve and not your hand. Stay home if you are sick to avoid spreading illness to others. This has long been our approach to a healthy workplace and customer environment and is now more important than ever. At Troll’s, safety is our highest value we are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our customers and employees. Troll’s is owned by a family, run by a family, serving families and we care for you and your family. In this, ever evolving world, we will continue to operate as long as we can, and as safely as we can, as we know the importance of things staying as normal as possible. Well, as normal as Troll’s can be. Stay safe everyone!
