I haven’t forgot about Thailand - Tuesdays lunch special is Pad Thai. The unofficial main dish of Thailand!

It’s a baked ham and scalloped potato kind of week. Looks like the weather man isn’t done with cool days yet, so it will be a great week for a little comfort food. Thanks to those who have already let me know that they will be taking lunch on Wednesday, for everyone else get in touch asap as quantity’s are limited. Enjoy your week all!

Just putting this out there. I would consider having ham and scalloped potatoes for the hot meal April 14 if there was enough interest. Not sure if lots had it at Easter or if your like us and missed a big Easter feast. Let me know - either here or personal message or pop by the cafe.

Welcome 2021. First hot meal of the year is roast beef and Yorkshire pudding - Wednesday January 6. Same rules as 2020 (lol) let me know ahead if you can, helps to make sure I have prepared enough for all of you. See YOU for lunch!

Merry Christmas

2020 - what a ride. House of Heart is closed Dec 24 till Monday Jan 4 2021. Though we are going nowhere or having anyone home, I will be taking some time to rec...harge. What a year its been. I am coming up to 21 years in business and 2020 has presented challenges and opportunities that are unprecedented. It’s taught me more about flexibility, patience and gratitude than I thought possible. I am grateful that I could pivot and still continue to serve the people that support me. I am humbled by how many of you found ways to keep me operating. I have stayed open the entire time, admittedly in different ways. Operating a small local business is often challenging - this year magnified those challenges. It’s also very rewarding and believe me it magnified those rewards as well. I have some exciting new ideas coming for 2021. Looking forward to sharing them in the new year. So to each and every one of you - Thank YOU. I couldn’t do what I love to do without you. May 2021 bring you health and happiness. May you find joy in the simple things. May someone brighten your day as you have brightened mine. See more

Back on track - this weeks Hot meal is the classic French Tourtiere or as we non French call it Meat Pie. Makes me think of my sister-in-law and her French hus...band who I thank for introducing me to this yummy treat. And this year it makes me remember Mary Jackson - we had many discussions over the years on the proper way to make one! As always its really helpful if you can let me know ahead.
