STUDIO REOPENS MONDAY After a few weeks of closure, we are incredibly excited to reopen our doors this Monday! We are so proud of Halifax for coming together to help lower our cases and reduce the spread of COVID-19! We have taken great care in making sure our studio and team are prepared to safely welcome you back! Please check your email for updates on your memberships and our COVID-19 policies. ... Here’s a few quick notes to know before we reopen on Monday: -Bookings are now LIVE! You may book classes up to 7 days ahead. -During the holidays, we will be open with our regular drop-in schedule but will be closed Dec 24-26, and Dec 31-Jan 1. Stay tuned though for a few surprises! -Our class capacities will be further reduced to just 10 dancers per class to allow for 9ft of physical distancing. -Masks will be required at all times. This includes in studio during class, as well as in our lobby and common areas. -If you cannot make it, please make sure to cancel your spot at least 4 hours beforehand to allow someone from the waitlist to get in and to avoid a late cancellation fee. -We will continue to upload at least 4 online classes a week to our new on-demand platform for subscribers supporting us from away or for anyone who doesn’t feel ready to come back to the studio quite yet. We will also be uploading weekly technique classes to help you work on your dance technique from home - everything from turns to waacking basics! -As always, stay home if you’re exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19, or if you or someone in your household has travelled in from outside of Nova Scotia in the last 14 days. As of Wednesday, Nov 25, we will be temporarily closing our studio for the safety of our community. While we are doing everything we can to protect our team and dance community, the rate of transmission in HRM has been too high for us to operate in good conscience. At this time, we have had no exposures and no one on our team or within our dance community has tested positive for COVID-19, and we’d like to keep it that way. We are making the decision to close voluntarily and i...n solidarity with many other small businesses across HRM. While we hope to only have to do this for a couple weeks, we will keep a close watch on public health updates before announcing a reopening date. As soon as it’s safe to dance together again, we will! Dance is so incredible for both physical and mental health, and while it may not be the same as dancing together in the studio, we’ll be announcing some online classes soon to keep you grooving at home until this temporary closure passes. And of course, you can always continue to support us by shopping online for gift cards, merch, private lessons, and class passes. Tonight’s classes are running as planned. In addition to drop-in classes, House of Eights offers a Performance Training Program that focuses on providing dancers with well-rounded training in a variety of styles to prepare them for commercial dance opportunities and performances.
