Market Trends in Durham (Ontario) for the month of November- 2019 compared to November-2018 (Source- TREB Market Watch-Includes all Municipalities Durham Area, for all types and styles of residential) 1)The # of Sales in November 2019=872, versus in November 2018= 724; up 20.4%; Highest gain was in detached, semi-detached, freehold townhouses and condo townhouses as overall price increase remained very moderate, average sale price increase was 3.7% overall for all categories,... types, styles, and sizes, $612,000 compared to 590,000 in November 2018. 2) As the number of sales was up 20.4% but the number of new listings that came on the market was down 11.5 %,( last November 1044 versus 1179 last year in November) resulting in low level of inventories, 1363 units available this year compared to 1772 in November 2018 (i.e. 23.1% down). 3) In nutshell compared to 416 and other 905 area Durham Region is most attractive price-wise for the buyers looking for the detached, semi-detached or freehold townhouses (particularly the city of Oshawa).
