How 'Bout Me Kennels

It's been a slow start to the season for us here at the kennel. Some dogs getting older but not yet showing their age, I think I am more the one showing my age. It does make me appreciate the moments we have and the realization that this journey we've been on, one that has morphed over the years will again continue to change. This years start has been a lot less stressful due to the addition of Badger a great stand alone leader from Ray and Janice Erker, thanks guys! Look f...orward to running when we can sharing our passion with friends and newbies. We are doing tours again this year nothing extravagant just what we are all about, the love for the dogs, the love of the sport, the joyous spirit they bring to all who get the opportunity to share in the experience. Hi everyone, I will take a minute to contemplate our existence, remember we're on island time may be a bit longer. We here are blessed with a family that is strong and healthy, with a god that is loving and forgiving and with relationships we have established with some amazing people over the years. We may not share all the same views, have discussion not argument, and know we value the finer things in life true love which I have been blessed with for over 25 years, kids that... remind me every day that I am not perfect but a constant effort to be better is what melds those family ties tighter. Looking out our window reminds me everything of the allure of nature, it's greatness and vastness, and it's diversity. My dogs have given me the opportunity to follow sometimes the same trails over and over but experience something different every time. I have always appreciated a slower pace to life one where it is OK to take time to share experiences, make memories that will last forever, we are there thanks to all who have supported us in this journey and will always continue to do so. The Season is all but over. We sure we're blessed with lots of snow here on the Island this year. When that waned Blaec and I were fortunate to take advantage of the ice on Lake Kagawong, that was a couple great trips. We want to thank everyone whom had a chance to share our passion at the Trek for Cancer and the donations to a great cause. Also Winterfest organizers here in our new home, Kagawong arguably one of the most beautiful villages in Ontario. Last but not least to the family we had out on the Lake for a tour. What an amazing time sharing our passion with such a welcoming family. Thanks for the thank you card. Hope to have the opportunity to share the excitement and joy with many more people next year. If you're looking for adventure Manitoulin Island has lots to offer all year round. Look forward to seeing ya.

Apollo the photo hound. This guy is one of the most affectionate dogs in the team. He works because he loves to and because he loves you. His heart is immeasurable. Reminds me of a great dog we had his Grandfather Big from years past, smaller size but Big Heart.

Blaec sure is proud of his leaders and proud of his team. I tag along for a little help if he needs it , like anchoring the team with tangles and turn arounds. He's growing into quite the little musher. Let's face it I wouldn't miss it. Fully a team effort here at the kennel.
