We are open for business and plan on remaining available to service our customers for as long as we can do so safely. We ask that our customers call for an appointment and avoid any unnecessary contact. We can then arrange to have vehicle dropped off and even payment processed through credit card or e transfer. We want to continue to provide service for as long as we can. If we work together we can get through this crazy time.

March 2019 marks our 15 year anniversary as we first opened our doors in March of 2004. Hard to believe it was 14 years ago that we installed our first alignment lift. It had served us well and was due for replacement. We are ready for the spring tire season. With our new lift installed and state of the art Hoffman imaging wheel aligner we are ready to get your vehicle set straight again. Give us a call to set up an appointment 613-658-5151

vehicle maintenance 101. Ever wonder why dealerships/vehicle manufacturers are recommending oil change intervals that extend to 20000kms? In my opinion that is absolutely ridiculous. What about the person that only drives 10000km/year? does that mean that the vehicle will only be inspected once every two years? Not a very good idea in my opinion. Stop and think what the vehicle manufacturers goal is. IT IS TO SELL NEW VEHICLES. Their maintenance schedules are based on keeping... their product reliable for the life of said warranty term at which time they want to sell you a new vehicle. That is their main objective to make money selling vehicles and financing! The average Canadian vehicle on the road is just over 12 yrs old. Do you think the maintenance schedule designed by the vehicle manufacture is the best scenario for your new vehicle? A vehicle that you potentially could keep for the next 20 yrs. Imagine no car payments for 15 yrs of your vehicles life span. There have been several instances where vehicle manufactureres have had to issue technical service bulletins. Dealers were informed to change the preset service reminder in the vehicles computer to less time(mileage) as it was causing premature failure of certain major engine parts. The repair of these parts are covered under your manufacturers warranty but what about after your warranty has expired? Things were breaking and costing the manufacturer money while still under warranty. They do not cover the repair once your warranty has expired. Todays vehicles have the potential to last for 20 yrs why not service them properly. Get them oil sprayed to save them from rotting away and enjoy the savings long term! No matter what the dealerships are selling you on how their warranty works. Independant shops are qualified to service your vehicle while under warranty. They cannot not deny warranty repairs if you have serviced your vehicle properly at another location.

alot of controversy over annual safety inspections on trucks and trailers lately. Here is the break down of what vehicles need to have annual stickers to comply with ministry of transportation regulations.

Did you watch the Royal Wedding? Jaguar launched a service to restore and convert existing E-Types to electric power -- the ultimate in upcycling -- last year as Concept Zero, but with a cost of at least $400,000 you'll need a king's ransom to afford it.

I would like to personally thank all our customers for their patience and understanding during the last few weeks. It has been absolutely crazy with the late kick off of spring and tire season. Most of all I would like to take the time to thank my good friends and best staff in the world,Jordan Drury and Scott Gibbons. Their is no way in the world that we would have gotten through the last few weeks without everybody stepping up taking on bigger roles and putting in the extra hours to make things go as smooth as they did. THANK YOU

Just Something we came across that will be required by all. Starting to enforce now! When Is a Yellow Sticker Required for Motor Vehicles/Trailers in Ontario? y...-sticker-final The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) requires periodic safety inspections under the Highway Traffic Act. Typically done at an MTO authorized Motor Vehicle Inspection Station, you will be issued a Yellow Safety Inspection Sticker when your vehicle/trailer passes the safety inspection, and this yellow sticker must be affixed to your vehicle/trailer. One area of confusion is that many people think that the Yellow Annual Safety Inspection Sticker is only required for commercial vehicles. However, it should be noted that even if they dont drive a vehicle/trailer for commercial purposes, the commercial vehicle safety requirements may apply under certain conditions. Lets begin by defining what the term vehicle includes when pertaining to this safety inspection. It includes, but not limited to, pickup trucks, truck tractors, trade vans, mini van or a two- and four-wheel drive sport utility vehicles (SUV) being used to transport cargo with the vehicles seats removed. The trailer being towed can be, and not limited to, general purpose utility trailers, a boat, snowmobile, livestock or cargo trailers. Now that we are clear on the terms vehicle and trailer, there are three different weights that you need to understand and know how it is determined. Total Gross Weight is determined by adding the weight of the driver, passenger, fuel, equipment, tools, cargo, etc. carried by the vehicle and/or trailer. Registered Gross Weight (RGW) is the maximum weight used to determine the fee paid for the motor vehicles licence plates which can be found on the right (plate) portion of a vehicles ownership next to REG. CROSS WT. This weight is based on, and must be at least equal to, the actual weight of the vehicle and its heaviest load. Manufacturers Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (MGVWR) is established by the manufacturer and is the maximum weight the vehicle can be safely loaded. This can be found on the vehicle identification number (VIN) plate, on the drivers door or door post on a vehicle or in the glove compartment. So, who needs this yellow sticker which is granted upon passing the Annual Inspection and Safety Certificate (SSC)? According to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), a SSC is required if: the total gross weight, registered gross weight (RGW) or manufacturers gross vehicle weight rating (MGVWR) of the vehicle exceeds 4,500 kg or 9,920 lbs. or the combined weight of the vehicle and towed trailer or converter dolly exceeds 4,500 kg or 9,920 lbs. An annual inspection is valid for 12 months and must be renewed prior to expiring to avoid hefty fines. The inspection is put in place to make sure each vehicle is in safe condition to be operated which help reduce collisions caused by mechanical defects. The following components are thoroughly inspected to check that they comply with the National Safety Standard and applicable legislation: power train suspension hydraulic brake system brakes steering instruments and auxiliary equipment lamps electrical system body tires and wheels couplers and hitches If you own a vehicle and/or trailer in Ontario which fit the descriptions above and dont have the Yellow Annual Safety Inspection Sticker, immediately have your vehicle/trailer inspected by an authorized Motor Vehicle Inspection Station like First Place Trailer to avoid potential fines. Fix and repair any items that do not comply to current safety standards. Once your vehicle/trailer has passed the inspection, affix the Yellow Annual Safety Inspection Sticker to the vehicle/trailer and have a copy of the certificate of inspection with you http://www.mto.gov.on.ca//tr/commercial-vehicle-faq.shtml Read all of question 16

Great news for our local talent. Back in the day we had four local teams(Spencerville,Cardianal,Prescott and Brockville) Surely we can get enough local talent back on the ice to field one jr.b team for the area. We need to give Andrew a chance to turn this train around and prove that we have enough local kids to field a competitive team. There has been lots of problems in the past and lots of issues that everyone is aware of. But there is no way to turn it around if Andrew does not get local support to get things moving forward.
