HPC-Vic is excited for what is to come in 2018, and we thought we would kick off the year by introducing our athletes in the program over the next coming days! Pictured below is Jade Hannah at the World Junior Championships this past summer, and she'll be one of the athletes highlighted in the days to come. Stay tuned!!

Wishing athletes Jade Hannah, Chantel Jeffery, Faith Knelson, Emma Myburgh, and Kyla Ross, as well as Coach Ryan and Coach Brad good luck this weekend in Toronto as they compete in the Ontario Junior International Meet!!

HPC-Vic and NextGen athletes Jeremy Bagshaw, Jade Hannah, Danielle Hanus, Chantal Jeffery, Faith Knelson, Emma Myburgh, Kyla Ross, Jordyn Ryan, and Josh Zakala competed in the PCS Christmas Cracker this past weekend at the Saanich Commonwealth Pool under Island Swimming. It was great chance for the athletes to get up and race in our home pool. Overall, the athletes contributed a total of 18 top 3 places, with 10 of those being 1st place finishes. Up next, we have 5 athletes heading to the Ontario Junior Internationals this weekend!

Olympian and HPC-Vic Alumni Ryan Cochrane was recently honoured on Saturday by Island Swimming with a new award in his name at their annual banquet. The award will be handed out to the top athletes who posts the fastest 1500m freestyle (male) and 800m freestyle (female) in the previous season. If you have not seen the video, be sure to check it out below!

This past weekend, HPC-Vic athletes Danielle Hanus and Josh Zakala represented the UVic Vikes at the 2017 Canada West Swimming Championships at Saanich Commonwealth Place. Both swimmers killed it at the meet by regularly finishing in the top 3 and even breaking a few records in the process! Congrats on a successful weekend!! Here are some highlights: Danielle: -in 200m Fly (2:09.77, new Can West Record) -in 100m Fly (59.09, new Can West Record)... -in 100m Back (59.34) -in 50m Back (27.59) -in 4x200m Free Relay Josh: -in 400m IM (4:14.93) -in 1500m Free (15:12.02) -in 400m Free (3:50.19)
