You’re going to be nervous. There’s no doubt about that, and it’ll be hard to be attentive at times, but you must do so. People want to feel like they matter to you, and if you aren’t attentive, then folks might feel like you don’t value them as people. What you want to do is practice active listening, and be sure you master it. https://www.humanresourcestoday.com//weekly-wellness-compl

Hi Everyone, just a reminder that on Thursday Oct 22nd from 6:00pm-7:00pm Madi Fuller will join us virtually to speak about how HR Professionals can start and sustain conversations about racism and inaction in the workplace. https://ca.bbcollab.com/gu/f6feff835e62483794dc6e690813821e As HR professionals, we have a huge hand in leading our organizations through changes, difficult conversations on race, & building inclusive workplaces. From the first interview to the exit in...terview, and everything in between, it’s critical that HR professionals are aware of the bias, power structures, and structural racism that takes place in Canadian workplaces. This workshop will focus on diverse recruitment strategies, how to create a culture that looks at ‘culture contribution' not ‘fit’, and on how to talk to your organization about racism, bias, and what you can to do to ensure your workplace doesn’t fall to the trap of inaction when it comes to anti-racism.- Madi Fuller Madi Fuller is a proud alumnus of Niagara College's Human Resources Management (HRM) post-graduate certificate program. She has 5 years of experience in the post-secondary space and entrepreneurial ecosystem. She is a career success specialist at Juno College (formerly HackerYou), a quickly growing post-graduate coding school that helps folks find careers in web development and other tech roles. Prior to that, Madi led the creation of Brock University's Co-op, Career & Experiential Education's new career-readiness program, Talent Bridge and was the project manager of Niagara College's ncTakeOff.
