What is a "girl Friday"? . . A 'go to' girl; a person who will help you get things taken care of; who you can rely on when you are in need of extra assistance; who acts as a 'jack of all trades' and is capable of doing almost anything; a girl you can count on when you are overwhelmed with your own projects but need the work done. .... . Everywhere I've worked, I found myself becoming the "girl Friday" in the office. I have sought out opportunities for improvement, developed the plans, and provided the leg work- usually without ever being asked! Since I entered the work force, I have always been my employers' "go to girl". Even before I knew anything about Human Resources, I instinctively knew the ways to improve our policies and procedures to make the workforce I was a part of run like a well oiled machine. For nearly ten years, I've been putting together recruitment plans and packages, writing out policy books, and giving the mangers I work for the best tools and templates to recruit, onboard, and retain their workforce. Now, I have a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources, working toward my CHRP designation, and I can provide my services to a wider range of small to medium size businesses (who could really use just a little extra help).
