Huge thank you to PPI Solutions Atlantic for a fantastic two day administrative conference last Thursday and Friday. PPI's Manager of Business Operations, Joan Somers, organized an amazing two days of presentations, delicious lunches and snacks, lots of laughter, axe-throwing at Timber Lounge, dinner at The Pint, and rooms at The Prince George Hotel for all attendees. HRO Core Office Manager Liz learned lots about the ever-changing administration of individual insurance and ...investment options- from health and dental coverage, to investment solutions, to critical illness and disability coverage, to medical testing required for life insurance policies. Exciting progress being made particularly in terms of paperless applications and less medical testing required for younger applicants. Fresh spring rolls followed by flavourful curry and a treat for dessert- home made wine gums- yum! We tailor our wellness programs to fit with the individual client. We start with a survey to gauge employee needs, and we survey throughout the program to maintain continued feedback. We handle ...every aspect of the program - ordering healthy lunch, booking presenters, handling employee sign up etc. Our wellness program offerings include (but are not limited to): mindfulness and emotional intelligence with Bryan (experienced mindfulness instructor), massage therapy with Whitney RMT, nutrition education with Nicole RD, cooking with chef Dennis, and a variety of lunch time exercise classes with various experienced fitness instructors. Update released from Sun Life this week re: Medical Cannabis coverage. Back in February, Sun Life announced they'd be the first major Canadian health carrier to cover medical cannabis. Yesterday Sun Life announced that, once policy holders have added the coverage to their benefits package, Sun Life will cover Medical Cannabis for the following conditions: Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, HIV/AIDS, and Palliative Care. Sun Life are starting out by covering these five specific areas as these are the areas in which research has proven Medical Cannabis to be helpful.
