Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act (Bill 148) Passes into Law - November 22, 2017. Are you aware of all of the impacts to your organization?

Court Bulletin - Several former employees filed employment standards claims after KFC restaurants were closed in Bradford, Newmarket, Stroud and Angus. The company and a director of the company were convicted for failing to pay termination pay and vacation pay. The penalties imposed included appropriate payment to the former employees, a fine of $75,000, Company director Evan Gogou was fined $10,000, and a 25% victim fine surcharge. https://news.ontario.ca//kfc-employer-fined-for-failure-to
