On December 5th 2020, Župna Folklorna Grupa "Hrvatsko Prelo" Oavkille participated in the Canadian Croatian Folklore Federation- East's Virtual Tamburafest 2020. This was our submission, "Jedna je Hrvatska" by Vera Svoboda, with arrangement by Marko Dreher. Special thanks to our Tambura Instructor Marko Dreher, Anthony Vranich for his videography & AV support, to Jure Mandic for video editing & AV support, our Holy Trinity Croatian Catholic Church clergy for their ongoing su...pport, our Prelo executive committee for producing, directing and organizing the performance and last, but not least, our Prelo tambura students for participating and sharing their talents with you all! All of these kids, aged 9 - 18 started this season in late October and learned this song in a short 4 weeks in order to participate in this years Virtual Tamburafest event and carried the performance all on their own! Croatian martyr Stepinac was accredited with directly and indirectly rescuing more than 6,000 Jews from the Holocaust, through various strategies. Blessed John Paul’s opposition to totalitarianism grew out of his devotion to the idea of God-given human rights. He is widely believed to have been a major influence of the fall of communism across much of Eastern Europe, encouraging democracy movements in Poland and during his papacy saw the fall of the Berlin wall, the dissolution of Yugoslavia, the fall of the communist regimes in Czechoslovakia and Romania and finally the end of the USSR.
