I love Hallmark Christmas movies! I love the predictable happy endings! Tonight's movie had the usual two conflicted but potential lovers and an angel sent t...o help them negotiate their stuck beliefs so they could finally get together for the happy ending. There were actually 2 angels - one who said it would never happen because the guy and girl were too far apart and stuck in their own heads. Then there was the working angel who said it would all end up as planned. And so it did end with the smooshie kiss! That's when the doubting angel said to the working angel 'You are a master arbitrator of chance!" and the working angel said... all it took was a nudge in the right direction. Couldn't we all be arbitrators of chance in our own lives... negotiating our way around and through the chance happenings that seem either so unimportant that we ignore them or so massively life changing we can't see beyond them? It's tough to predict what will be life changing when all we see is our own issues. Sometimes we get stuck in the details of chance occurrences. I'm asking you to either look deeper or look beyond those moments to see the possibilities in everything that happens in the next weeks. Just start practicing today, this minute to negotiate what happens to you with new viewpoints. My next post. tonight, at 8:30 pm, is going to sound very unlike me! It might lead you to becoming your own arbitrator of chance... at least I hope so.
