Raj Paul ’13 is producing The Pines Still Whisper, an independent feature film, with an international group of artists from Canada and the United Kingdom, including his sister, Kira Paul ’15, who is part of the creative team. Raj says, The Pines Still Whisper, was born out of the first lockdown, when our team decided that we would continue creating our own work instead of letting ourselves fall into complacency as our industry collapsed. The group has launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund the project. More information can be found on the official Facebook page below.

Karl, Clare and Simon have all devoted their careers to sustainability in different ways, and graciously shared their experiences and feedback with our students. Jessica Lam ’09 is an oncology nurse at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and a recent graduate of Ryerson University’s Master of Nursing Leadership in Healthcare Policy and Education program. Jessica reflects on the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on her patients, being awarded the University Health Network’s Collaborative Academic Practice Fellowship for developing an educational program on oncology for naturalist nurses and her experience working as the clinical coordinator in the Medical Assistance in Dying Program at the University Health Network. Thomas Zachos ’17 and his family have been generating awareness to raise funds for research of mitochondrial disease, something Thomas has personally been impacted by. Through their efforts, the Zachos family established The Thomas C. Zachos Chair in Mitochondrial Research the first-named chair to support mitochondrial research in Canada.
