Veterinary services are essential under provincial regulations. The clinic will continue to be open with slightly reduced hours. We are continuing 'curbside' pet drop off and pet food, etc pick up. We are continuing to provide veterinary services. Please call the clinic for daily office hours, questions and for purchases. We will make arrangements to ensure that we are all kept safe.

Hudson Reykdal Veterinary Services 24.11.2020

As the province moves back to code Orange, we are continuing to provide service but will be moving back to stronger precautions. We ask that only one person comes into the clinic. We are also happy to bring medications and food to your vehicle, call and pay with credit card to limit time inside the clinic. Masks will continue to be required at all times. No entry without a mask. We will also be decreasing direct contact with owners when they bring their pets to the clinic,... so please call on arrival. Thanks for your cooperation as we keep each other safe.

Deer Ticks tend to be most active in early spring and fall late. For Manitoba, this means April, May and October, November. Ticks stay active while the temperat...ure is just above freezing. If anyone needed a reminder to give their animals their tick preventative this month...I pulled a deer tick off of each of my cats last night. They are spending very little time outdoors now but still managed to pick up deer ticks :/ Deer ticks (also know as a black legged tick) can carry Lyme disease and other tick borne diseases. Deer ticks are most active in early spring and late fall. In contrast, wood ticks, which we see in huge numbers in many areas of Manitoba, are most common in May and June. Because we see deer ticks less often, people tend to forget to give the tick preventatives in early spring and late fall, which means their pets are at high risk for contracting Lyme disease, Anaplasma and Erlichia during these periods. While wood ticks are super gross because we get so many of them and they can actually cause anemia from blood loss in some high risk dogs, deer ticks are the ones to really worry about. They are the spreaders of disease! Don't forget to give your dog their preventative if you are in an area of the country that has ticks and any time the temperature remains above freezing!

The mobile vet hospital made its way to its new home in Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba yesterday. For those interested in mobile services, please contact Dr. Joshua Fender. Our clinic in Ashern will continue to offer wellness exams, vaccinations, minor surgeries (that require sedation only - like quill removals, minor cuts and wounds, cat neuters, etc), sick animal exams, etc. Until December 31, 2020. ... If you have any questions, please call the clinic 2047682042. We are still here to help, answer your concerns and create a smooth transition to new vet care. Thank you.
