Just in case you missed it in the Bulletin or on our inside signage, or when we updated the hours on FB and on our website... we are once again open on Saturdays from 12-4! Don't forget that there are new library use protocols in place for COVID prevention, please read our signage on the front door and window prior to coming in to the library.

Tuesday's Craft-----Clothes Pin Fish!!! These are easy to make. The supplies you will need are 1) Clothes Pins. 2) Paper/Construction Paper. 3) Glue/Tape. 4) Markers/Crayons/Pencil Crayons. 5) Scissors. 6) Googly eyes if you have them, if not you can draw an eye. 7) Pipe cleaner/straw/stick or cardboard to put your little fish on. Okay let's get started.... 1) Draw the top half of your fish don't forget the top fin. 2) Draw the bottom part of your fish. 3) ... Draw another fin by itself. 4) Draw a smaller fish. 5) Cut out all your pieces. 6) Take a marker/crayon/pencil crayon and draw on your gills and put your eye on or draw it. 7) Glue/tape your little fish to the inner side of the bottom of the fish. 8) Glue or tape your to pieces of the fish onto your clothes pin. Make sure that your little fish doesn't go above the top of the fishes head. That's it!!! Now squeeze your clothes pin and watch the big fish make the little fish disappear. See more

SRC-Summer Reading Club starts on July 6th. Please register online for ages pre-school to 13 and for 14-Grade 12 must register by calling or stopping into the Library. There are prizes for our top three readers in all 4 age groups. There will be reading challenges and physical challenges. Please join us for some zoom time, where we will have stories and games and for our younger groups puppet story time. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Shellie and Amber are sooo excited about this! We've both read most of these, and were sad when it had to be postponed indefinitely. We are definitely going to finish reading the bunch as soon as possible! We own all of the titles in the library. Each patron can borrow one book at a time as there is only one copy of each. Book these titles through your library card account on our website or call to have us place these titles on hold for you. 4 weeks to get them all read! They are mostly shorter/quick reads, so you can definitely have them all read before then!

Tuesday's Craft!!! Today we are going to build Spoon People!!! You can make your family if you want or even your dog or cat. Supplies you will need. 1) Plastic spoons. 2) Markers/Paint. 3) Glue/Tape. 4) String/Yarn. 5) Paper. 6) Shoe box is optional, just makes your spoon people stand up. Okay, lets get started. 1) Color your spoon down the handle. 2) Glue or tape on your hair which you can use paper or string/yarn. You can even make a hat. 3) Draw on your faces. JUST LIKE THAT YOU'RE DONE!!! Enjoy your spoon people or animals. Please feel free to share or post us a picture. We love to see what you made!!!

Tuesday's Craft!!! With Father's Day this coming weekend we will be doing a craft for Father's. Supplies you will need, 1) Paper/Construction paper. 2) Glue/tape. 3) Crayons/markers/pencil crayons. 4) Scissors. Let's get started 1) Trace your hand and wrist on a piece of paper/construction paper. 2) Cut it out. 3) Glue your hand and thumb but not the 4 fingers. 4) Write or cut out and glue Happy Father's Day Dad or whatever you would like to say to your Dad. 5) To curl your finger and make them turn in just lightly fold them inwards and then there you have it thumbs up:) Feel free to post your pictures, we would love to see what you made.

Tuesday's Craft on a Wednesday!!! Today we will be making Noodle/Pasta Art! We are playing with food!!! Supplies you will need 1) Pasta (any kind will work). 2) Glue/Tape. 3) Paper/Construction Paper. 4) Pipe Cleaner or string. 5) Crayons/markers/pencil crayons. There are 4 pictures down below to give you some ideas of what you can make. Once youve decided, you can get started! 1) Draw out your picture. 2) Glue your pasta in place. Be creative in any way you can think of. Don't forget we would love to see your pictures.

We have MORE new titles available in the library! With our holds takeout service you can borrow books from our local collection! Just login to your library account through our website and place up to 10 holds at a time! (5 for temporary card holders) We will make arrangements with you for a contactless pickup. Please be aware that you will be limited to 2 new shelf titles at a time and interlibrary loans (ILLs) continue to be unavailable as they are a provincial service.

The service allows you to borrow items from the library again! We did a soft opening of the service over the last couple weeks, worked out a few bugs and got staff used to the process for quarantining items as well as safety procedures for pick up. Many of the items that we circulated were for items that were for interlibrary loans (ILLs), that we ordered prior to the closure. Unfortunately ILLs are still not available at this time as they are a provincial service. We had a n...umber of patrons who placed holds online and others who called in to get one of our librarians to put together a bag of items that suits their tastes. Dont forget that you dont have to be fully computer savvy to take advantage of this service. You can call in to request specific items or a bag of items selected by our librarians as well. Tuesday's Craft. PAINTING!!! Finger Animals/Thumb Art. Supplies you will need, 1) Water Paint. 2) Paper. 3) Markers/Crayons. 4) Paint Shirt. 5) Water in a bowl (so you can wash your fingers). 6) Towel. Let's get started. 1) Pick your color to make your bug/flower/animal. 2) Press your finger/thumb onto your paper. You can make lots of color on a paper, just keep them separated so you have room to draw around them. 3) Let them dry. 4) Once they are dry you can start drawing on your finger marks. See how creative you can be. Don't forget if you would like to post your pictures of what you made, we would love to see your creations!!!

There are currently 25 items to choose from in the Express Collection available through the Overdrive and Libby apps! Typically there has been 10-14 titles available each day. When I first started making this ad, there were 28 titles set up for the weekend! Tuesday's Craft!!! With Mother's Day coming up I thought this would be a nice craft to make. The supplies you will need. 1) Paper rolls. 2) Colored paper, or plane paper you color. 3) Scissors. 4) Pompoms or buttons. 5) Glue or tape. Okay let's get started. 1) Cut your flower shapes and leaves. 2) Cut 2 slits in each side of the paper towel roll and set your flowers inside them. 3) Glue your leaves on and make some more!!! Feel free to take a picture and post it to us to share!!!

Exciting news! Stephenie Meyer is releasing a Twilight companion novel from the perspective of Edward in August! As a Twilight fan, I was quite upset when a hacker released a partial draft in 2008, resulting in Meyer cancelling this novel. The original partial draft is still available on Ms. Meyer's website... if you can get through! Fans crashed her site this morning as the countdown finished and the big news was released....
