A very big thank you to the Eichmann family for their generous donation of many pairs of glasses, frames and glasses parts! And another big thank you to everyone else that added to the donation and dropped their old glasses off at the post office and the clinic! All together, we sent 382 pairs of glasses and many glasses parts to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre. That’s so fantastic! What a wonderful community we live in
For those that might not know, Lions clubs collect old, used eyeglasses from their communities, ship them to one of our eyeglass recycling facility where they are cleaned and refurbished. From there they are distributed all over the world to people in need, free of charge. We have a large parcel of donated glasses I’d like to ship out by the end of next week. If you have any old, broken or unused glasses you’d like to add to the shipment, please drop them off at the clinic i...n the drop box in the waiting area, or with the ladies at the post office. Please feel free to share this post to spread the word! Thanks so much!

Lions used to host this annual event for many years up until June ‘89. We only had 11 participants but it was still a great day and we are grateful for those who came out to walk, run, bike the 16km route. Our category winners were: Youngest participant - Mackinley Kohen-King Oldest participant - Bill Lindsay Fastest - Sean Hodgkinson Most money raised - Bill Lindsay Thank you to all our participants, sponsors, Grad 2019 class and Lions who helped make this event possible! These are only a few of our club’s events. Everyone always has a lot of fun and it’s so rewarding to give back to our wonderful community we’re so very blessed to call home.
