Dear folks, We are getting very overwhelmed with messages, and I may have missed responding to some. To add to the challenge, the messenger has been acting up in the last 2 days, and some messages did not go through, from our side. So if you do not get an answer within a day, please ping us again.
Great article that explains the challenges of incubation and hatching of Marans eggs. https://cluckin.net/incubating-and-hatching-marans-eggs.htm
The chicken feed that we are buying has recently gone up in price by 16.67%. We have to figure out the impact of that on our pricing, as we go through LOTS of feed here. So it hurts!
4 Black Ameraucana babies hatched November 13 are looking for a new brooder. One of them may be split to chocolate.

The morning was not a big surprise. When I stepped out, the yard was empty. But the chickens left me some angry handwritten letters all over the snow, expres...sing their intense dislike of the new white bedding. The dogs were happy and horsing around, and I like to think they tried to erase some of the chicken's profanity. Silly doggies, as I could still hear the chickens cursing loudly. The cats seemed indifferent. When I called, nobody showed up to the feeders. The teens decided to wait it out and skip the breakfast. Silly kids, they don't know the winter can be long and much worse than this light dusting of snow. Just wait until we have to dig up the tunnels to let you to the feeders! The babies came out though, as they are still at the age when they listen to what mama says. The experienced old ladies demanded breakfast in bed. Oh well. I am happy to serve, ladies! Happy to serve. See more
Do I look like a piggie? With this pig tail? Can't wait until the molt is over, and I am back to myself gorgeous.
