In this video, she comments on the ever-shifting identity of future generations across the globe, and what that means for outdated paradigms we in the western world must address in order to rebalance our outlook on the global society.

This week, HMLD will be spotlighting the accomplished novelist, lawyer, and politician Unity Dow. Unity Dow has served as a pillar not just for human rights in Botswana, her home country, but as a global voice for equality, activism, and cultural education.

Despite her strength and ability to overcome life’s many challenges, Clara Hughes just like many of us still struggles with mental health. She speaks of needing to take a break from public life (which is ok!) in order to focus on dealing with her relapse into depression. She serves as a wonderful example of the resilience of a true leader, and the strength it takes to be honest when we are struggling.
