An interesting post from Szilvia Agárdi, a well known musician and singer from Hungary. Here Szilvia shares with her Facebook fans as well as her 142,000 Tik Tok followers her impressions whilst reading using Explore 8, our high-definition electronic magnifier supplied by HumanWare’s partner in Hungary, Labrador Kft. Szilvia is a 25 year old graduate from Budapest Metropolitan University who has been visually impaired since birth and has only 9% vision. She has been singing from a very young age and has previously won the Lions international competition in Krakow for visually impaired people in 2017 as well as starring on Hungary’s version of The voice and representing Hungary at the 2016 Eurovision Song contest. Video is in Hungarian. https://www.facebook.com/agardiszilviahivatalos/posts/3564493040263627

HumanWare is an active participant in the industry-wide Access and Engagement research project! The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is proud to announce the release of the Access and Engagement research report, the culmination of survey findings from 1,432 U.S. and Canadian participants who represented 455 children birth-21 with visual impairments, 710 teachers of students with visual impairments (TVIs), 138 orientation and mobility (O&M) specialists, and 180 professionals who worked in both roles. The #AccessEngagement report highlights the challenges experienced in education in late spring 2020 as the shift was made from education in school buildings to remote education, or in some cases no education.
