Every February, people in Canada are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honour the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities. The 2021 theme for Black History Month is: "The Future is Now". Look to our local community for announcements and other virtual activities from February 1st to 28th.

This was an inspiring day last year during Bell’s ‘Let’s Talk Day.’ I miss the opportunity to engage with our students this year as they are for this semester learning virtually. Remember to reach out if you need someone to talk to.

Greetings and welcome to the winter 2021 semester. It is my pleasure to welcome each of you back to the Orangeville Campus for this our final academic semester of operations even though all studies will be conducted virtually. Since the fall 2007, those involved with academic delivery at the Orangeville Campus know it is a special learning environment and because of this, I want to make sure that you our students are successful.... As much as your point of contact for your academic program is through your faculty, student advisor and program coordinator, don’t hesitate to reach out to Morag Tierney, Linda MacDonald or myself if something arises this semester regarding your academic studies and needs. This semester a student from each of our academic disciplines who is demonstrating exemplary commitment to their academic studies during this pandemic will be recognized halfway through the semester. Looking forward to acknowledging our students! Also, in early March I will circulate the request for nominations for the 12th and final Orangeville Campus Student Success Awards. Humber Orangeville Campus holds its 11th annual Student Success Awards, May 21st, 2020 and announces nine award recipients. On Thursday, May 21st, 2020, the Humber Orangeville Campus held its 11th annual Students Success Awards virtually on Facebook Live. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary to cancel the on-site event but still important to hold it in order to recognize the commitment of so many incredible students at the Orangeville Campus.... The Live event was hosted by Campus Principal Joe Andrews. Aired using Facebook Live and streamed on the Humber Orangeville Campus Facebook page, over 400 viewers in real-time enjoyed hearing the names of this year’s winners. ‘I will say that each award winner is most deserving due to their academic commitment and dedication along with in special cases their perseverance to the community.’ Campus Principal, Joe Andrews The evening began with a warm welcome by Principal Joe Andrews followed by recited words provided by Humber President and CEO, Chris Whitaker. This event has also been extra special when Chris provides his words of congratulations, and this year was no different. There were nine recipients including two who were awarded a special Orangeville Campus financial bursary of $500.00 each through Humber’s Advancement office and the Orangeville Campus Principal’s office.
