Launch your inner entrepreneur with the Launch Me Workshops Series and Competition! Launch Me workshops are aimed to help students and alumni receive the training and skills they need to take their business idea to the next level. There are three sections for the workshop series, with topics including the Lean Canvas, Business Plan Development and Business Pitch training. These skills are directly related to the competition, which is launching January 8th, 2018. The competit...ion requires a completed application, Lean Canvas and business plan submission, and chosen finalists are required to pitch to a live audience on April 5th, 2018 for an opportunity to receive up to $10,000 in prizes for their business. The Centre for Entrepreneurship is offering two workshop series, both aimed to help budding entrepreneurs gain the skills they need to successfully launch their business. All workshops are open to Humber/Guelph-Humber students and alumni and you can attend as many workshops as you would like: Be Your Own Boss A workshop series that covers all topics around starting a business. Humber grads Theo Willert and Avery Bird have won bronze in the mechatronics category at the WorldSkills 2017 competition in Abu Dhabi! The two electromechanical engineering grads, who previously won gold in mechatronics at Skills Ontario and Skills Canada, also won Best In Nation for their performance among the other Canadian competitors. Congrats Theo and Avery!

As of 12:01 a.m. on Monday October 16, full-time and partial load-faculty at all Ontario colleges, including those at Humber, are on strike. All full-time, cont...inuing education, online and corporate training classes at Humber College and University of Guelph-Humber are suspended during the strike. Students are asked to contact their academic schools directly regarding the status of co-op, clinical and field placement activity. Varsity athletic games and Fall Convocation ceremonies will continue as scheduled. External organizations conferences and events held at Humber will also continue as planned All Humber campuses and Employment Ontario offices remain open with student and client services and supports available.
