Spent some time with my old pal Dave from NL on his podcast, chattin about business and life!
Catching the early morning light on a couple of our pieces of art. @xjamesross has two pieces up from Thunder Cove that you can buy for 185 each, and the second pic is a Christmas gift I got from Caley, a @mikegoughart original. Mike is one of my favourite artist/people and I'm so pumped to have his work hanging alongside ours! @ Summerside, Prince Edward Island
Beard trims are back!! And don't forget to step up your beard game a little bit with a proper beard shampoo and cream or oil!!
With the new Covid update, we are going to be closed for the next three days at least. After losing an entire quarter last year, we're really bummed to be back in this situation, and urge everyone to follow the guidelines and recommendations to support not only our front line and health care workers, but our small business community. Stay safe and get tested like we did so we can cut your hair again!!!!!!
@parker_the_barber_ has been pumping out great cuts, and is now cutting full time! Book online with him or any of our other great staff at humblebarber.com
Four years working together and hardly a pic of us at all! So I'll use this one from 3 years ago on our one year anniversary. Devin is the most steady and reliable guy I know, but hes way more than that too. Hes one of my best friends, and is a huge reason the shop is what it is today. Though Im not one for appreciation posts, we deserve this one. Cheers to continued friendship, to shared business and personal growth, and all the great things inbetween.
New contest!!! Click the post for your chance to win, and hop onto instagram and follow @thehumblebarbers for another!
A cut and beard trim for those nasty days in the duck blinds @coastalxoutfitters
Our apprentice Parker is whipping up some amazing cuts to match his personality, and for a limited time, is one of the least expensive cuts in town! The rest of us keep an eye on his cuts to make sure theyre up to our standard, but we rarely need to do much. Book online with him @ humblebarber.com
The nature of every job is to be good at replicating work. The joy of every job is to create something different

Health and safety stuff- We will be following the requirements from the CPHO, and recommendations from the PEI Barber Association. Social distancing: our chairs are spaced, and we ask you to respect other people's space as well!... Disinfection: We run a clean ship already, we will be disinfecting capes and chairs and all surfaces Appointments: Come in at the time of your appointment, and be ready to go!! One parent/guardian allowed with children who need it Masks: Clients are NOT required to wear masks, and we kindly ask that you do not.
Online bookings are starting Friday at 12 at humblebarber.com - first day back is May 22nd!
We’re gearing up to open on May 22. I will be opening the schedule a few days in advance of that- I’ll have the official time and date in a later post. We won’t be able to accommodate any wait list or early bookings, it’ll be first come first served. The Barber Association took a much more lenient and business friendly approach than the Hairdressers Association. The BA recommendations put the responsibility on business owners and clients to take whatever extra precautions th...ey, as adults, feel necessary, while respecting the safety requirements from the CPHO. Our shop will open with social distance protocols being respected, and the usual disinfecting, with extra attention being paid to chairs and capes. Masks and gloves will not be required for barbers or clients, though some of our barbers will choose to wear them. We ask that clients come to the shop alone (one parent for kids), come in only at the time of their appointment, and be ready to get in a chair soon as they enter. Due to the time constraints we will be faced with, we ask that clients do not wear masks during their haircut. On hair professionals opening in Phase 2: I trust Dr. Morrisson and the CPHO when they say it’s safe to open. Health professionals are responsible to determine what is safe for the public, in the same way each of us are responsible to determine our own personal safety. I understand the apprehension caused by the inconsistent messaging. I don’t know how social distancing can be mandatory at the same time as haircuts are allowed. If it’s safe for us (exposure: 15 cuts a day, 5 days a week) then it should be safe for everyone. A consistent message would have us in Phase 3, or everyone with us in Phase 2. To me, it’s either everyone opens when we do, or we don’t open until everyone else has. It should be consistent and logical. But again, we’re pumped to be allowed to open!! PEI did a great job shutting down and limiting the spread of Covid-19. It’s not hard to find examples of what happens when people aren’t vigilant in the early stages, and we avoided that. No community spread, and only 27 cases that were perfectly managed (great job patients!). I know there’s a risk, and that another wave can come around, but that’s kind of always true. That’s why we always wash our hands and disinfect tools, why we always act responsibly. If you don’t feel safe, trust yourself. You’re in charge of your health. I feel safe, and can’t wait to cut some hair. Lookin forward see all yas. -Sean

We are very excited about the phases announced today to get us all back to work! However, on May 22 only 5 people are allowed in the same room at the same time, and we have a staff of 5. Until we get further information, we are unable to open our schedule. Please be patient with us while we wait for more information
Just a little bit longer right?? Our Stay Home-ble design from Devin & Chantel could be just what you need to keep up the great work so we can all get back to work soon!! Shop online @ humblebarber.com!
And the winner is....
Tip for managing long hair: dry it in the style you want it! If you want it out of your eyes, dry it up and back! Drying it where you want it lets you use product for finish instead of hold! Edit- i meant keeps it out of my eyes, not hair! #onetakeprobz
It's been a month since we've cut any hair!!! Post a picture with how crazy your hair is, and another with it styled to win one of our new Stay Home-ble tees (colors and sizes at humblebarber.com). Have fun with it, challenge a friend, and dont forget to tag us!!!
Contest time!! Show me your isolation hair! Before and after to win one of our new Stay Home-ble tshirts. Tag @humblebarber and challenge a friend to enter, winner will be picked next week!
Are fridges the unsung hero of a house?? You can learn a lot about a person by what's between the magnet and door. Ours is a mix of old pictures and Lily drawings, the little things we've collected that don't fit in a frame or on a wall. A perfect snapshot of the things that make us happy. Share a pic of your fridge door and tell me about it in the comments!!
