Everyone meet Krystal and Megan! Hunt Club Dental’s amazing Registered Dental Hygienists. This week was Ontario Dental Hygiene Week, and we wanted to show our appreciation for our ladies and all that they does for our patients. RDHs do so much more than clean teeth. They screen for oral cancer, advise on smoking cessation & nutrition, develop custom homecare programs and make referrals to other health providers when necessary. Not only do Krystal and Megan support the best oral health possible for their patients, but they always have them leaving with a smiles on their faces. Thank you for all that you do ladies! #OntarioDentalHygieneWeek

COVID19 UPDATE: Dr. Steve and the rest of the team at Hunt Club Dental wanted to start off by saying thank you for your patience and understanding during the uncertain times of this pandemic. We are pleased to be able to share some updates with you all. Starting next week, we will be open from 10am-4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for dental emergencies. Appointments must be booked in advance via telephone.... We are also now offering Teledentistry: a new service that can be conducted from the comfort of your own home via Zoom. Here are some new protocols that we have put in place to ensure the safety of our patients and our staff: All patients and staff are screened before entering the facility for an appointment or shift. This includes a log confirming they are not experiencing any symptoms of COVID19 as well as a touchless temperature reading. There will be no more waiting in waiting room. Patients will remain in their cars until we are ready to bring them in. We ask that you are not early for your appointment, as you will only be allowed in at your scheduled appointment time. We are now only allowing one patient in the clinic at a time (unless it’s a child requiring a parent or guardian at the appointment). Immune compromised patients will be scheduled as the first appointment of the day. There are plexiglass barriers installed at the front desk. There are marked distances throughout the clinic to enforce safe physical distancing. Our facility is paperless and we have ensured a contactless experience for patients through personal protective equipment (PPE). All patients and staff must use hand sanitizer upon entry and exit of the clinic. Staff will also be washing or disinfecting hands thoroughly after contact with contaminated surfaces or equipment, in between procedures, and after removing personal protective equipment (PPE). All patients and staff must wear masks while in the clinic at all times (except during procedure for the patient) Patients must do a 1% peroxide rinse prior to treatment. All team members will be fully equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. The whole clinic (waiting room, bathroom, and other common facilities) will be disinfected before the entry of each new patient. Please call us today if you have any questions or would like to book an appointment. 613-523-7900

When plaque is left alone for as little as 40 hours, it can start to mineralize on your teeth, which then creates tartar. What is tartar exactly? Read this quick article to find out.
