LEGO Social Skills Group HPS is looking to run a LEGO social skills group for children ages 6-12. Group participants will work collaboratively on building sets and freestyle building. Throughout the duration of the program, participants will learn physical and social skills through peer interaction, following instructions, problem solving, communication, cooperation and self-regulation. LEGO play has been proven to be an effective tool for children to improve their so...cial interaction and communication skills. HPS is looking to gauge interest in the program and the time of year you would prefer (Spring, Summer or Fall). Please get in touch with us if you are interested in enrolling your child in this program or would like more information. Please share this post with family and friends to spread the word about this great learning opportunity for children!

Wishing you all a great Monday!! Grab your coffee, enjoy the crisp morning, practice some mindfulness and get ready for a great week ahead. HPS is always here to help when life becomes too much. For now, some tips for a productive week: 1. Make a list. It can be super helpful to visually see tasks getting done! 2. Control your work environment and distractions. Does screen time impede production? Turn your phone to silent, flip it over and set a timer for when you can use it. 3. Allow yourself breaks! Your mind and body need breaks, so give yourself some grace and take a walk, have a chat with a co-worker, or top up your coffee.

Today we’re busting myths of online therapy You may think that because you are meeting online that there will be a lack of connection between your therapist and yourself, however studies have proven that both therapists and clients actually project more authentic versions of themselves from the comfort of their own homes. Being safely in your own home also supports high levels of confidentially. Our offices and our online platform is secured to protect you, the client.... Our online platform also has a ‘chat’ feature that allows clients to type out certain concerns or issues that they may not feel comfortable saying out loud. Our chat system automatically deletes at the end of each session, ensuring confidentiality is maintained. Of course technological failures could impede the progress of a session. Thankfully, our online platform allows you to test your internet connection, audio and video capabilities prior to the start of the session. When you book with HPS, please feel free to reach out for helpful tips to allow for a smooth connection throughout our session together. We do understand that having access to a computer and internet is a luxury not all can afford. Because of this, we are pleased to now offer in-person services on Thursday’s and Friday’s in Lloydminster. If you would like more information regarding our in-person sessions or have any other questions surrounding remote therapy, contact us at: [email protected] All worries regarding remote or in-person therapy are valid and we are happy to offer free consults to discuss these with you

C o n n e c t i o n Feeling connected means to feel in touch with someone who cares about you. Most people understand that children need to have a safe and loving environment, and have a secure attachment to an adult. As adults, we also have an innate need to feel and to be connected to others. This is can be your partner, your children, co-workers, friends, or other family members. To be truly connected, you must go deeper than surface level conversation. Trust is... necessary for meaningful conversation, connection and is a key element of social relationships. Disconnection often happens in busy seasons of our lives, when we are racing from one meeting/activity/grocery store to the next; trying to get through the days, rather than enjoy each day. We challenge you to reach out to your partner, a family member, friend, child, or co-worker & let them know how much you appreciate them. Practicing gratitude can enhance our relationships and deepen our connections See more

With summer coming to a close, fall is imminent. The past 5 months have been filled with many hurdles and challenges for each of us to face. Due to the uncertainty of the coming months, and further to that, what types of services individuals, families, schools and agencies will need, how they are able to access services, and at what cost they can afford, HPS has created a variety of service provision ideas which allow for increased flexibility and access. Shifting into fall, HPS wants you to know that we are here
