Greetings Players, parents, friends and family members My Name is Sheila Roberson, and I am the assistant Coach for the U14 Boys as well as the Fundraiser Coordinator. Each year we host 1-2 Fundraising events for our club because we are a non-profit club that relies on these fundraisers to keep our club running. All of the Coaches and Executive are Volunteers. The money raised from these Fundraisers go towards keeping the Rep Fees low, pay for gym times, referees, tournamen...ts and equipment, cover coaching clinics and help to cover fees that some families can’t afford. We believe every kid should have a chance to play no matter what their financial situation. This past Spring we had to cancel our Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction due to Covid-19, which is our major Fundraiser. I have now chosen to Fundraise through Mom’s Pantry for right now. This Fundraiser is running now through to December 1st. The 2020-21 Season Begins! Calling All Hurricanes - Spread the Word! OBA Rep Teams - Starting the week of October 26th, the Hurricanes will be on the courts at Muskoka Bible Centre in Port Sydney (about 15 minutes from downtown Huntsville). We will run Rep team tryouts and practices under OBA Phase 3 safety guidelines. ... House League - We are expecting to continue the Hurricanes Development Program with a variety of clinics which will be open to all comers and run under OBA Phase 3 safety guidelines. Health and Safety - Player health is always the first priority and we will continue with our programming as long as health guidelines allow. If changes to those guidelines do not allow us to continue, families will be notified and fair refunds will be given. Information on schedules and registration will be coming soon

September 7, 2020 - Update The Hurricanes ,are working to provide basketball opportunities for youth in our community, despite the setback of school gym space being unavailable (until at least October). We are planning to have a 2020-21 season and are currently in negotiations to use alternate facilities to hold fall/winter programming as well as team tryouts for our OBA Rep teams. The OBA has released a schedule for their Ontario Basketball League (OBL) program which will... start in January of 2021. The final decisions for OBA team coaches will be completed this week and we will make an announcement shortly in this regard. Thanks, and we hope to see you on the court soon!

Calling all Hurricanes! Although the challenges with COV-ID are nowhere near settled, we are hoping to have a basketball season this year. The OBA has guidelines established for non-contact practices and we are exploring options for alternative court spaces as we wait to hear from the school board about their gyms. In order to be as prepared as possible, we are asking for all potential Hurricanes OBA team coaches to submit their applications by August 31, 2020. You can use ...the website application at huntsvillehurricanes.ca We know that there are alot of questions about what a season might look like and we will answer your questions as we learn more.

Hi Hurricanes Families!! We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this crazy time. Hurricanes clothing has been in for awhile now but unfortunately due to the circumstances we have been trying to decide the safest way to get it out to everyone. Sam has offered to set all the clothing outside her office for Curb side pickup during the day Thursday April 9th. ... All clothing has been put in individual bags and labeled with the players last name and team age group. To keep good social distancing we are asking each team to come get their clothing during their assigned time slot. We do however understand this won’t work for eveyone so if you can’t make it during that time, please come when you can. Pease remember to practice good social distancing and hand washing once you are home.
