THROWBACK THURSDAY: Joseph Huckins named this steam ship 'Dean' in 1878. It was used to service the many Ports on Lake of Bays. The route would start in Baysville and continue to Dorset, Dwight, South Portage and the growing amount of resorts on the waters edge. In 1886 - 1888 the canal from Pennisula Lake and Fairy Lake was dredged in order to allow Steam Ships to transport goods and people throughout many of Northern Muskoka's lake chains.
