We are one decision away from changing the rest of our lives One split second decision that may define which way your life will go If you didn’t have time to overthink. If you couldn’t weigh out the options and / or consequences. You had to make a choice whether to sit or stand... I’ve had to make many on a whim. The last few weeks have put me to the test. Challenges accepted and without a single notion to use Triggers were in my face repeatedly and I know they are only present and pushing forward in order to manifest a better me I could have taken the easy way out, which would typically mean I drown out my incessant thoughts with a half gram of cocaine and some mindless gaming on my phone The tougher road means facing the issues and making the right decision. Choosing the lesser of both evils and head towards the path that presents less toxicity Using would only make me feel crappy about myself then pour out the rage and anger onto those I love. They deserve the best of me and that’s the choice I get to make I didn’t let them take me down. I didn’t give a reaction because not everything deserves one. Know the difference between those who stay to feed the soil and those who come to grab the fruit ~Unknown It’s been a heck of a time, but I couldn’t be more proud of myself and all those who continue to enrich the soil We have a volunteer at the Hope centre who was able to stock our commercial refrigerator with tons of food from Barney’s Bargain Barn... We had so much surplus that the hub was able to help 5 families/mothers in need Their sweet gratitude is what makes living and pushing through my own struggles all worth while I am honoured to have the opportunities to live out my greater purpose. Life has knocked them down more times than we can ever imagine Our mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters are suffering at the hands of society and what is expected ... The creation of HUR Hub was about giving a voice back to our communities who have been judged and misinterpreted. The moms who struggle to pay for their next meal. The ones who lose their children because they forgivingly lost themselves. The people who don’t get the support they require both mentally and emotionally The hub is about breaking the cycles that have been stumbling over into the next generations but includes a new set of challenges with each one Along the hub’s journey, I’ve met and connected with some amazing people, filled with passion to their core. From writing their stories and collaborating with their efforts, I consider to be undeniably blessed That being said, I’ve learned some of life’s grander lessons in this last year and a half. I’ve wanted to give up more times than I’d like to even admit, but slowly, instead, I progressed With every kick to the ground, friendships lost, broken family ties, there came a rise above like no other. I’d roll over, ask myself why, and come to peace with my purpose and the cost that it bears You know that reaction you get when you read a quote or a meme and it resonates super loud? Well, I know that feeling all to well and mostly when it comes to spiritual talk I’ve wondered many things, but this I know. I wasn’t meant to just follow a narrow road. It’s winding with many ups and downs but I wouldn’t change it nor do I question what’s next. BLINDED The true killer is not an illness which, while I’m sure exists, so does poverty, anxiety, homelessness, depression, addiction and so on... Isolated behind walls and hidden under masks, we have lost all human connection and communication. We are easily offended and ignorance is pure bliss ... I remember a time when a simple smile is all it took. Some days, that’s all you needed to sprinkle some positive energy in a room. It used to go a long way and now fear has profusely taken its place We are all misunderstood behind phone screens and lack of true emotion. We are entrusting words more then instincts and energy. Our lives have become radically dictated by social media and propaganda This is causing more damage than we can possibly imagine. The generational curses will only thicken over the years because our children are suffering at the seems of our choices We reap what we sew, and unfortunately, we are sewing an entire generation of emotionally and physically unstable tiny humans. Proper education, extracurriculars, family outings, physical emotion and connections are all missing from their little lives If my eyes could talk, which these days they have to, they’d speak loud for the children, and even louder for our most vulnerable during a time when human connection is needed most Share a smile, show your emotions, speak your truth and stand up for all you believe in. I can attest that it will pay off in the grandest way.
