The Huron County HIV/AIDS Network (HCHAN) is going into it's twenty first year of existence. There have been many challenges in maintaining our presence in Huron County, stigma and fear being 2 of the biggest obstacles to overcome, but we are persevering in educating the public and supporting our clients to assist them with a healthy diet and trips to the city for appointments. Though our numbers are small, our goal is huge...to ensure that support is available for families in Huron County that may have someone close to them at risk of, or infected by the HIV virus. If you need to hear more of our story, please contact HCHAN at 519-482-1141 for more information.

7 Canadians are infected with HIV every day! Most don't know as they are not being tested. We need easier access to Anonymous testing in Rural areas...We need better information on Needle Exchange Programs in Rural areas...We need caring people to come along side people living with or at risk of HIV in rural areas...to stop the stigma and create a healthier environment, encouraging healthier choices. Let's make these changes together and see the difference in people's lives.
