SERVICES UPDATE: During the current period of shutdown announced by the Province of Ontario on Jan. 12, all Huron County Library branches will continue to offer curbside services during their current hours of operation. All branches remain closed to all other in-person services until further notice. Patrons can continue to return any library materials through the book drops, which are conveniently open 24/7 at all branches. For the health and safety of staff and patrons, once... they have been returned, all materials are quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours. Please note that this may cause a longer waiting period between loans, and items may not be immediately cleared off your list of checkouts. The Huron County Library remains fine-free for 2021. During the shutdown, patrons can still access the library’s online catalogue to place holds for pick-up at their local branch. All Huron County Library card holders can also access an extensive collection of online resources, including cloudLibrary, Kanopy, Hoopla, Flipster Magazines, Ancestry, educational resources for children, and more! Congratulations to Helen Gianoulis, branch manager for Goderich and Bayfield, who is retiring today after 10 years with the Huron County Library! Staff shared that Helen was never one to shy away from dressing up as the Library's mascot, Bob the Book, or getting her hands dirty in the Library's garden. Staff wish Helen all the best in her retirement and hope it brings her lots of time to finish those books, to learn to start her own gardens, and to enjoy lots of quality time with her family!
