It was a great morning to be in the field controlling some weeds. Conditions this spring have caused an increase in herbicide injury in soybeans and dry beans but these soybeans are trucking right along.
A beautiful morning to apply some herbicide treatments to the plots. Looking forward to seeing the results.
Great opportunity for those in field research or just starting out to get some great background training in this field. https://bdc.ridgetownc.com//field-research-training-works/

A Tim McGraw song comes to mind as these corn and soy plants are popping up in rows. Good to see progress on the limited amount of crop we have been able to get in the ground. It’s been a challenging spring and like many others we are still behind.
First day of planting at the Huron Research Station today. Planting corn into some strips made last fall for Masters student project. Conditions weren’t 100% but we met the timing objective for planting and with good weather it should make for a nice trial.
Put the Wintersteiger Delta combine through its paces this week harvesting dry bean and soybean weed control plots. Thankful for some sunshine and strong winds.
By far, our annual bean tour is my favourite day of the year at the Huron Research Station. It’s a great day to highlight the hard work and dedication of our team to bring valuable research to growers in Ontario.
Great attendance at the Huron Research Station annual bean tour. The skies have cleared and it should be a great field tour this afternoon.
Preparing and looking forward to our annual dry bean tour on August 22nd.
Timely rains have come and the wheat and red clover that was drilled in for cover crop on July 20th is greening up nicely.
Our under-seeded red clover was a bust in some fields. Today was a good day to use up some old seed from our inventory and drill it in for a cover crop in those fields. Hoping for some timely rains.
Soft red winter wheat plots coming off today.
Things are getting dry at the Huron Research Station. Don’t drop your clipboard.
Annual ryegrass control trials showing some interesting results. Trying to figure how to keep ARG from being ARGHHH!!!!!
White bean weed control trial going in today!!!
It feels good to get back out on the field. Fertilizer going on wheat at the Huron Research Station.
Early morning frost seeding of red clover into winter wheat yesterday. Hoping for a good catch to help build our soils and improve soil health.
Looking for grower/cooperators battling bindweed in winter wheat and nutsedge in corn for field trials this spring. Please contact @CowanHRSWeeds on twitter or [email protected]
