Exceeds legal minimums to use a booster seat but is too young to have the impulse control to sit properly in one for the entire duration of every drive. She is safest staying harnessed until she develops that impulse control or outgrows the maximum limits of her seat, likely closer to age 6.
Our cleaning service at its finest. Proper cleaning based on manufacturer’s instructions not only means a clean seat, but one that is safe to continue using #safetogrow #safeseat #readthemanual #cleanseats
Booster readiness is not just about hitting that magical 40lbs on the scale. There’s so much more to it.
Busy week of cleaning car seats over here. Always cleaned according to their specific manual to ensure the integrity of the seat isn’t compromised. #cleanseats #keepthemsafe #safetogrow #cpst #littlehurricanes
It’s June 8th, and we are opening back up to help you keep your kids safe to grow! We have made changes to our protocols to keep everyone safe during this time. Please take a moment to read before your next appointment. We will send a pre-screening and waiver form for clients to fill out before every appointment via email. If you are sick or experiencing any symptoms of illness, we will reschedule your appointment. We will only be offering car seat/booster seat checks at... this time. Car seat cleaning services are unavailable until further notice. Personal seat shopping will be available on an as needed basis, when required to provide certainty of our seat recommendations. Virtual seat checks also remain an option. For the time being, please do not bring your child(ren) to your appointment. We will do an online pre-check to collect your child’s age, weight and height as well as photos to assess their harness/belt fit. This can also be done by video conference, if preferred. Please bring your own face mask to wear. We will have some available if you do not have your own. We will be wearing gloves when handling your child’s car seat and we ask that all doors/windows be opened throughout the check to allow for air flow through the vehicle. We will provide you with hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the check. At this time we will ONLY be accepting debit, credit card or etransfer. NO cash please. We cannot wait to see everyone again soon! Hurricane Kids Team #yqr #localyqr #localyqrbusiness #yqrkids #safetogrow #safekids #cpst #carseatsafety
Hockey gear and car seats/boosters DO NOT mix. Read on for why having your kids suited up at home puts them at risk in the vehicle, as well as tips on how to get them to the rink safely while dressing rooms are closed.

Boosters are for BIG kids! This new study showed what many parents of 4 year olds already know: 4 year old kids spend more time out of position than properly positioned, making them more vulnerable to injury or fatality in a crash. Keep your kids in a 5-point harness until they’re mature enough to sit properly in a booster seat. For many kids, this is between ages 5-7, but usually closer to age 6.... If you have questions about whether your child may be ready to booster, send us a message! Source: Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada
