Dawn and I were privileged to be able to take the wheelchairs into the Annapolis County Special Olympics group for a whole lot of fun! Amazing experience for me! My first time with Special Olympians in my chairs! We will have to do it again!
This is just the tip of the ice-burg....I wish the article went deeper....there are so many issues with "the system" that need a spotlight...but this is a start.

Recruitment of new players has proven to be challenging. One of the reasons we hear for not wanting to try wheelchair basketball is the wheelchair itself. Some people see it as accepting defeat if they have to play in a chair. Especially those who can walk (such as cerebral palsy kids). But we see our chairs simply as another piece of sporting equipment. Like a bicycle, boat or surf board. The perception is wrong. Give us a chance. Our page got spammed....sorry about the advertisement. Unless someone is selling wheelchairs and they are giving us some....or huge discounts on the chairs...there will be no ads :)
Sunday gym time is done until Jan 8, 2017. Have a great Christmas break everybody!

Reminder about Practice tonight - 6 to 8:30 at Brookside

We want everyone to play...with or without disabilities...especially the younger ones...we want the friends, brothers, sisters and parents of the kids to play. So we can generate interest and so the kids have someone to play with. http://www.cbc.ca//paralympics-co-operation-disabled-able-
We get requests for our chairs and participation in schools all the time...teachers...please see the resources attached
First Mini tournament is Oct 1 to Oct 2 in Fredericton New Brunswick!!! Details to follow....
