Hamilton Youth Film Festival

We wanted to thank everyone who tuned in to watch the fourth annual Hamilton Youth Film Festival on @cable14! It was a blast shooting everything and even more fun watching all of the films! This week's guest speaker is Derek Lukosius is an award-winning filmmaker from Hamilton Ontario. In 2016, Derek proudly won the prestigious Hamilton Arts Award for Emerging Media Artist. For the past 3 years, he has worked as the Director of Media and Marketing for at Camp Can-Aqua.His films have screened all around the world from Puerto Rico, to Mexico to the UK to New York. His film, Camp Kenneth, proudly won an award with judge Bruce Clark, DOP of Canada’s Worst Driver, calling it guerilla filmmaking at its best! Derek has completed production of his award-winning feature film directorial debut, The Lone Paddler. "Wild Temagami" is this week's throwback film. Directed and produced by Hailey Sonntag and Michael Oliphant is an environmental documentary on canoeists Hap and Andrea Wilson in Temagami, home to the worlds largest stand of old growth forests in the world. The film highlights Hap and Andrea Wilson's relationship with the Temagami wilderness and the threats that the land faces. Check out this film at 10:00pm this Friday on cable14now.com

"Rick Osborne - Outlaw" was created by Vrishub Merai. At 20 years old Rick was "Canada's Most Wanted Criminal". "The Second Target" follows the story of a disturbed hitman who in order to financially keep supporting his daughter who is diagnosed with Leukemia, takes on a killing contract whose second target is unknown.
