s # If you don’t do the habit don’t beat yourself up... Accept it for what it is, acknowledge why you didn’t do it and make a plan to ensure you don’t make the same mistake tomorrow. We are not perfect and we cannot expect ourselves to be perfect, we can just do the best that we can each day. And remember that’s going to look different each day. Consistent imperfect action is better than inconsistent perfect action. Failure is inevitable But if you tell yourself , that is the mindset that will keep you consistent. # You have to take a look at the habits you already do:... You brush your teeth You brew your coffee You cook your dinner You watch TV Start pairing your new habit with your old habit. For example: You meditate before you brush your teeth You journal while your coffee is brewing You work out before you watch your favourite show When you pair your new habit with your old habit it will be a seamless transition and easier to stick to it. All the times in my life where I felt fearful of trying something new... that is when I grew! Every single time I left for nearly a years dance contract somewhere around the world. I did this from age 19-26. I left behind relationships, I didn’t know who would be in my casts and especially the first time I had no idea where I was going. When I moved to Fort McMurray I Alberta with my boyfriend of six months. A town I had never even been to. When I went back to school for holistic nutrition in the evenings, I had a three-year-old and a six month old. ’ ! Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga): The Danish art of happiness. It is a feeling more than a word. It is the art of enjoying life’s simple pleasures and making the ordinary more meaningful beautiful and special. There are a lot of areas in my life where I implement the art of Hygge. ... Learning to enjoy the simple moments in life, the in between moments, realizing that all we have is now... the present moment. This is especially important in the cold dark months. The months where SAD can creep in. Hygge has really helped me embrace these months. When my motivation fades and I have to really rely on my commitment to myself, I like to add a layer of Hygge to make it more enjoyable. This can be as simple as 15 mins in bed sipping a warm coffee before I get up to push play on my workout. A new pre workout flavour or exercise clothing ... anything to look forward to. A new program! SO excited for the 9 week program I’ll be doing in the new year! If you want to join there’s room for you! An awesome group of women to workout with in the morning. Delicious post workout recovery BCAAs that taste like chocolate milk. And always always remembering how amazing it is that I am ABLE to MOVE my body! What a gift! 6 steps to make habits stick. Tip #2 ! Why are you struggling to implement a habit into your life?... What excuses are you making OR What do you project your obstacle to be? ! Take the time to look at the possible or projected obstacles so you can find a solution to them before you actually face it. If we never figure out how to dodge obstacles we will continue to make excuses over and over and run into obstacles one after another. ! Take time to sit down and address those things so you can face it head on not if, but when the obstacle comes up. : mornings can be hard to get going, so to make my morning workouts seamless to begin I preset everything the night before. # - ! Don’t set too high of an expectation.... Going from 0 to 100 all at once is too much too fast We need to give ourselves permission to start small. If you want to start waking up earlier start with five minutes earlier for a few days, then 10 minutes, then 15 If you want to start working out don’t think you need a full plan or to do an hour per day every day. Start with effective 20 to 30 minute workouts. (Check out the free samples in the link in my bio). Start with a few days per week. Start with just pressing play today and moving your body. . This is the mindset I had when I began my 100lb weight loss journey. It did NOT happen overnight! I had long term vision! Small positive actions done consistently equals positive change! Let’s level up and raise the collective vibration shall we! Have you ever encountered someone, maybe a stranger, who has the worst negative energy? You can FEEL it when they come near you. ... These people ... energy vampires... used to drain me and leave me shaking or emotional. ’ ... These people are projecting their own internal shit outward and onto anyone they come across... it has NOTHING to do with YOU! ...I envision surrounding myself in white protective light/energy and when these people come around I imagine their shitty energy literally bouncing off me and away. Even virtually... Surround yourself with those who lift you up Who show you that you can accomplish anything Who you can be your authentic self around without fear of judgement! ... Those are your people! You control what you see on social media. Follow those who inspire you Who make you feel good Who make you want to be a better version of yourself! Unfollow any negativity Accounts that leave you feeling sad, down, depressed You have control over who you surround yourself with! And when you maybe don’t (like at work) surround yourself in a bubble of protective light to block the negative energies. *I literally visualize the negative energy bouncing off me and remind myself that their anger, sadness, anxiety has nothing to do with me - it’s a total projection of their lives.
