JANUARY MARKET STATS ARE OUT! The Edmonton market in January saw an increase in year-over-year residential unit sales as well as month-to-month sales, says REALTORS Association of Edmonton Chair Tom Shearer. There have also been more sales of single-family homes, condos and duplexes compared to January of last year, while we’ve seen an increase in month over month sales for single-family homes and condos and a decrease in duplex rowhouse sales. We are encouraged to see th...is kind of activity at the start of the year, which is typically a slower time in the real estate market, and especially in the current economic climate. Here’s a little breakdown: - January sales were up 47.1% from the year before. - There were 17% fewer homes listed than the previous year. - The average sale price was $364,040. We love when things work out as they are supposed to, and that is exactly the case with this particular property I showed this home to good friends of mine this weekend, and when I got back home from the showings Andrew asked me how did it go?. I got to share the most AMAZING NEWS with my beautiful friend & client today, that her home is officially sold. Today was the first time in 2020 that a client was able to successfully make me shed a few tears, but it was tears of happiness! In the real estate world, some properties take longer to sell than others and this one was certainly a journey. I’m very thankful that she was incredibly patient throughout the entire process. A few weeks ago, we put our heads together &... came up with a strategy that involved purchasing different furniture for the space, relisting the home with new photos of the revamped interior & priced the home competitively. And BOOM! SOLD! 2020 has certainly had it’s ups & downs, but I could not be happier that my client gets to finish off the year with closing this chapter & moving onto bigger & better things (which also involves a gorgeous new home).
