The Vsion is closed. Complicated story but none the less, all of the walls are being stripped this week. Dung could use anyones help. Last night was a chain saw, sledge hammer throw down! Lots of fun! If you have epxerience with tools, head over today and see if Dung needs a hand. As well he is selling everything and its all piled out front of the Vsion right now.

Climbers have conquered the vertical world but these guys own the horizontal... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGJuW6jonE4

There seems to be a good short term solution thanks to the Town of Canmore and Dung for their co-operative efforts to keep the gym open for the team and the public, at least until the new year. So until then we will continue to brainstorm and use this space for positive stoke centered around climbing and community. Here is a favorite old video of mine. With all the new crazy film production its nice to watch some old school vids here and there. Destivelle, she was the first real rock star in my books! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIRcNiUMRRw

Well, it looks like the future of Canmore indoor climbing is up in the air. The co op did not fail as of yet but it seems Canmore will be without a climbing gym for some time. I was not here in 1999 but I could imagine the void in the community without a common place to gather, send, session, crimp, whine, send, conjour, complain, dream and to have a vision. Climbing has many different faces these days from the Sean McColls to the Alex Honnolds, from the Steve Houses`to the ...Josh Whartons, Climbing is a mixed bag. But no matter where I go I know I can rely on the power of the plastic to pull people together on a rainy day. Not sure where the future of Canmore indoor climbing is but lets hope that there is one! In the mean time.. watch this, lets hope there will be more of this to come! B http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkFLSdEqGCM

Tomorrow is the last night the V'sion will be open. Awesome local DJ will be rockin' the show, everyone show up. The future is still up in there air. There are lots of 'behind closed doors' chatter going on which is awesome. ... Since we do not want to jinx anything we will wait until the fat lady has sung. "Wait until the fat lady has sung" is a colloquialism meaning we should not assume the outcome of a situation until it occurs! On that note, we should gather and celebrate a 12 year stint for the V'sion because if nothing else this is the absolute end of a historic climbing gym that was the vision of one man: Dung! Even if this continues it will not be on his watch. For Dung and the Vision, the fat lady has sung! Dung is a mentor, teacher, coach, inspiration and so much more. Stop by the V'sion tommorow night to give a big ol' hug and kiss to the man who is responsible for a ton of 'pumps'! Thanks Dung!!!!! Session!!!

Meeting tonight went great. Sorry for any mis-communication. More details to come.... Things look good, remember this is an evolving entity that requires trial and error. Right now we are unifying all of our random emails, ideas and talks into one. I want to thank Will, Chris, Patty, Andrea, Adam and many others for brining much insight into the world we are venturing into, without them this would not be happening. Our main goal is to keep the doors open so people can climb and as of now things are looking up. In the mean time check this out! http://www.youtube.com/watch

I want to thank my friend Chris B. for being a very informative and positive force behind all of this. Meeting tomorrow night at the V'sion. This will be an open discussion that is based on the fact we need to simplify all of this. Chris noted that some things need to be simplified and he is right. IBoulder is an evolving entity, different from the V'sion but with the same soul. ... The V'sion had many facets and membership status. IBoulder will be different but the same. $500 for an annual membership. You get a key to the gym. There is a constitution and set of rules. If you break the rules you are no longer allowed in the gym, no refund. You can bring a drop in guest for up to 5 times and then they have to buy a membership. 24/7 climbing time. Lots of other details to be discussed tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in there. I am very positive that thiss will come into fruition, IBoulder is just a few bucks away. ;)

I just heard the new Canmore Multi-plex gym will NOT be open until next spring, late winter at the earliest. This leaves Canmore without a gym for nearly a year. On that fact we will make this happen. I am learning a lot about building a co-op, thanks for the patience. Brandon

HOPE!! Despite the hurdles we are moving ahead.. its not over yet. A few years ago one of Canmores finest (Geoff Hill) created the Canmore Community Co-op, it ended soon after. I presented a slideshow there, it was one of my best public presentation memories. The vibe and soul of Geoff's co-op was young but to this day rings a fine tune of balance and drive. IBoulder hopes to do the same.... Big work week behind I have lots to catch up on including a ton of emails from people who are willing to help out. IBoulder might yet strive forward, keep the 'shares' alive and tell everyone about the concept. This will not only be a bouldering co-op, it will be a grass route initiative to find a future using the present and history of a culture so wild. Brandon
