Anyone who spends anytime around Métis beadwork will be familiar with the term "mousetracks." They are an essential element of traditional Métis beadwork, one o...f the defining features of our style. They are the little beads that come off the stems, the way mouse footprints point out from the trail left by their tail. I went out to shovel the driveway this morning and found a perfect example of real Mousetracks out in the yard. In these pictures, you can see mousetracks on two pieces which are 125-150 years old as well as on two pieces I've made in the past year.
