Thank you everyone for the success of our first session after our prolonged absence. Last night marked the conclusion of these monthly short sessions so we would like to take this moment to remind our members to make sure they are signed up for the next session through parks and rec Nanaimo as soon as possible to ensure there are no disruptions to practice. Thank you all again and we will see you next week!

Good morning everyone, This post is to announce that parks and recreation has formalized the start of Iaido classes in September 2020. Classes will take place at the Departure Bay Activity center from 7:30 to 9:30 PM Wednesday nights.... As we may have indicated previously, class sessions for the remainder of 2020 are on "Continuous temporary status" meaning the session lengths will be uncharacteristically short. currently the session dates are as follows: September 23 -October 28 November 4 -December 9 (in discussion to extend to the week before Xmas) January 6 -February 10 Whether or not these classes continue as scheduled is dependent on registration. As of now, registration should be available for the September classes on August 26th. Please keep in mind that Parks and Rec is primarily operating through phone and online registration with limited face to face. PLEASE register for the September session Aug 26th to ensure our numbers allow the class to begin promptly September 23. In the meantime, Zoom classes will continue through August and early September if you are able to join. This has been a long hiatus, and we are looking forward to having you all back in the Dojo soon. This information will be sent through Email to all members Have a nice end of your summer everyone, Practice footwork!
July Update to all Todokai Dojo members. Current information with Nanaimo Parks and Recreation indicates the timetable for classes to resume is the second week of September 2020 (Sept 9th). To the best of our understanding, September classes will be available for registration after August 31st and class sessions will be broken into 6 weeks blocks on a continuous temporary status until spring 2021 when programs will be re-evaluated. ... All students are required to register for classes personally due to liability and insurance precautions currently enacted. The session cost, class time, location, and official start date of these classes is still unknown at this time. Zoom classes will continue throughout the summer months on Wednesday nights at 7:30 PM with no interruptions. Todokai remains committed to the resumption of Iaido classes as soon as humanly possible. All updates to the resumption of practice will be posted as soon as they become known. Thank you for your ongoing support and patience in these unprecedented times. (If you have questions regarding Zoom classes please message Todokai for information. ) We look forward to practicing with you all as soon as possible.
