Week 2 - still drawing and prepping for the next series of paintings. Blackbirds symbolize creativity and energy ... this week I focused on looking for calm and mindfulness

Painting yes ... posting not so much. I’ve been busy on the work itself but I’m re-examining my site and social media to see how to more closely align all of this with the work itself. Fine art comes in many forms. There are those who will argue that comics and street art don’t count - I strongly disagree. I managed to meet and get a signature from Humberto Ramos whose work stands out against the masses; continuing the long standing tradition of visual storytelling (which has been around a lot longer than the written word) #humbertoramos

Sunday morning playing with apps :)

Came across this painting just outside of artist’s alley. The woman’s eyes and the colours in the painting grabbed my attention. The real key though is how it is displayed. As artists we can often forget that the potency of our work is dependent on how and where we exhibit. If this painting had to compete with others, I’m not sure I would have noticed it.

Great way to start the day ... my two most influential artists have always been Picasso and this guy ...

I’ll take the one on the left, and the one on the right ... I guess I’ll just take all 4 ...

I’ve been working on two new paintings - one done, second very close to completion. I’m now looking to Quebec City for inspiration ...

WASN’T ‘FAKE NEWS’ BUT NOT ENTIRELY TRUTHFUL EITHER My last post suggested it was time to get back to work. Truth is, I never stopped. The reality is I’ve been remiss in sharing. There is now a backlog of completed projects, projects currently in progress and some future work ahead.... As per usual, I’ve recharged by exploring. Everything from Radiohead, Billy Talent to Rachmaninoff under the stars at Casa Loma. Trying new places/new recipes hasn’t abated either, as you can tell from the photos. I’ll definitely be sharing new tasting notes going forward. So what have I been up to? New paintings? Definitely Updates on where to buy Empty Gestures cards? Coming Have I written a book? Yup I’m looking forward to revealing all of the above when the time is right. However, I do promise to get a wee bit better at sharing
