I first met Eddie in 2004. He had invited us on what would be our first North American tour to open for him and Van Halen with Sammy on vocals. It was the second night of the tour when Eddie came to our backstage door like rolling thunder and introduced himself. He gave us praises for the previous nights show and brought us to his warm up room to talk shit and play us his classic guitar lines while we sat in awe on a pair of road cases. Corey and I. Sitting there. Trying to ...take it all in... Eddie was larger than life. He was a guitar God with very human struggles. He was nothing but kind to me and he broke that unattainable barrier of distance between the untouchable legend of your youth and the availability of a real person. He made me feel like I could do it. We stayed in touch for a while after that tour. I watched happily from a distance as he got sober and put the new formation back on the road. Like an astroid in space sometimes a person only needs a nudge to change their entire trajectory. You touched many people like that Eddie. I am happy to have been one of them. Quick tease from what’s to come of our @amtofmpromotions performance in Toronto at the legendary @kensingtonsound studio. Filmed this week, it was the last show of what was an amazing 2 weeks in Ontario promoting the new JT project, the new single Closer and what’s looking like the obvious next pick for release, No Love Left To Fight. Thanks to our wonderful team for putting this together in such crazy times. Also much thanks to our friends at #suntanrvandmarine for providing us with such a wonderful home on wheels.
